couple trailer questions

Really??? Mt Llc

I am ready to add some more help to my engine, and would like some input on which tuner/programmer is best. I am looking for towing help as well as some better gas mileage when empty. I pull a 42 foot 8 horse trailer, I already have added an AFE stage 2 air filter and scrapped the factory exhaust for 4. 5 inch Magnaflow dual exhaust with no dpf. I have a 07. 5 3500 quad cab 5. 9L so i am not bound by the new blue tech engine... ...

I know it's like comparing apples to oranges because of our different truck years, but I'm towing a travel trailer with programming from a Hypertech MaxEnergy. It's a great product and has worked flawlessly for me. EGT's stay with limits and it's definitely boosted the power.

All I can say about the fuel economy is it didn't seem to change appreciably. My truck's fuel economy is all over the place when towing depending on the terrain, winds, load, etc. , so it's hard to do accurate comparisons.

Best regards,

John L.

5. 9's aren't 07. 5's nor do they have a dpf...

Anyways, I would get gauges first... I think a Smarty Jr is a great choice for those that tow hard and want better mileage.
