Ok, I did it.

I bought my wife a 98 12 Valve, perhaps she will stop wanting to borrow mine :D

It has Amosil stickers and air/oil filter. This is good right? Any problem changing to Premium Blue Synthetic and a K&N? Anyone with Amsoil experience please comment.

TIA

Happiness is TWO CTD's :D :D

OK, I'll do an analysis on the oil and see the silicon content, glad to know it's an OK filter. The guy said he did a 10k mile drain interval (!) on the Amsoil, seems like he took care of it.

Doug:

When did Chebby start making trucks? ;)

When I was a kid my mom spanked me for using the "F" word, so I'm afraid to buy a "F" word truck :)

The Amsoil filter is a quality filter. I have had silicon numbers as low as 4ppm using this filter. I had a K&N RE-0880 before that and the numbers were around 10ppm.

As to engine oil. It should not be a problem to install the oil of your choice. Enjoy.

Amsoil filter is top notch

I'd stick with the Amsoil filter. It's a quality filter and all my oil analysis reports have always read real low on silicone, as low as 2 ppm on one analysis.

I hate to be lazy and not look this up on the Amsoil website, but is their air filter a paper filter, or some other material, like the K&N? I have a K&N RE-0880 right now, so I'd be only interested in replacing it with another conical type filter.

Thanks,

Tom
