I just don't know what to say!!!!

Sleddys getting out of pulling, and I am getting back in...

So what is the secret to making a turbo work on a 2 stroke? My buddy tried it on a yamaha banshee, but the port timing was wrong, and as soon as it tried to build boost it would fall on its face. Or is it all secret?

I have alot of experience turbocharging engines both 2 stroke and 4 stroke there are no real secrets just lack of information.

Unless it is ported the port timing should be fine setting up the carbs is where the real work is, it was probably going lean when boost came up.

I had a turbo 670 Ski Doo Twin 2 stroke 5 years ago made 210 hp 145 lb. torque at 11 psi it had more lag than my Warrior but it was almost as fast with half the CC's. :D

ted, do you still run an expansion chamber before the turbo, or just a head pipe? He was not using an expansion chamber, just a short pipe straight into the turbo. Could this be part of the problem? The set up he was playing with was a draw through system with a side draft weber 2 barrel. Sounded like a good idea, but like you said, due to lack of know how he benched it and put a 4cyl in the quad. sucked big time, too big and heavy to play well, but it was a rocket at the hill. The turbo 2 stroke motor seems like it would be the way to go, but i have never seen one in a bike.

Yes we used the expansion chamber, YOU HAVE TO.

Then you blow through the carbs not draw through.
