2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission I am doing the mirror swap, how I get them apart?

I got the retainer off and the big spring out, but it doesn't want to seem to come apart, is there something else I need to remove?

should just slide off pivot point after spring hit ya in the head heheh

You are not kidding about the spring hitting you in the head. All of a sudden pop and the spring landed in the driveway, if I would have been leaning over it, it would have knocked me in the head.

I put 2 big zip ties over it and used it to "cage" it and hold it there. Worked good, the spring broke 2 of the zip ties but the energy was spent and just sat there...



Heard of that happening so I took precautions
