I am looking at a 2004 2500 4x4 he says that he had the transmission rebuilt 10,000 miles ago. He said that he put a billet torque converter and input out put shafts. Is there anything else too look out for? I had a 2000 dodge for along time and had a lot of transmission problems and wanted to see if the 2004 has the same problems. Thanks James

The 2004 (305 HP) and the 2004.5 (325 HP) have a lot of differences in the engine. Some people like the earlier version better. Bigger tires and lift kits are hard on the front end. Number 4 fuel line is prone to breaking, and easy and inexpensive fix tho, just buy the updated line from Cummins. Was the trans done by a reputable shop? Does he have paperwork to prove it?

All the best in your search. David
