I started to work on my fuel leak today. I took a couple wrenches under the truck to remove my starter. For some unknown reason I did not unhook the batteries. Of course, as I test a wrench to find the right size I weld it to the frame. I am so angry at myself. Anyway, after the light show I find the ground wire that is hooked to the brake booster fried. Where does it go and what else did I burn up. Please feel free to kick me. #@$%!

I have a sign above my shop door. Leave all your troubled thoughts at the door and pick them up when you leave. Not dumb just wiser

once saw a guy loose an entire wrench working on a string of batteries in a power plant. He only "thought" he tapped every little bit of it up.

How long did it take to see again? How do I know to ask that?

Thank you for the reminder.

It is incidents like that which have taught me to pay the man who knows how to do it right the first time and only time.

I happily pay a younger, stronger, more skilled real mechanic to do all my maintenance and repairs. About 8 or 9 years ago a young tech at the local Dodge dealer did a small warranty repair for me and I liked his attitude and willingness, even eagerness to learn. He has done all my work ever since that day on his own clock nights and weekends. I am grateful for him. He now owns my old '01 Ram 3500 that he worked on for years when it was mine.

Yea like I have never done something like that before. LOL!

I think we all have at some point. :-laf Sort of reminds me of the time when I got this bright idea to wire some 240V stuff hot..... Took me a week to get the feeling back in my fingers.

I once had to measure the distance between battery posts... I used a steel tape measure!!! I ended up cutting the tape a few inches past the burnt, missing part and hung it on my shop wall to remind me that everybody makes mistakes.

DOH!!

Yea I actually know a few people who think they dont make mistakes. Or at least the act like they dont. They also act like they are the smartest people to ever grace Gods green planet. It just so happens that they are brothers. The thing I want to know is, if they are both the smartest person in the world. Which one of them is lying?

Both are lying. *Everyone* knows that *I* am the smartest person in the world.

;)

Well you could be me and my brother and do the same thing, only put massive holes in the transmission lines that run under the bell housing. Haha we both have done that on the 96 and the 97. Let me tell ya, I unhook the batteries everytime. Less money spent! You catch my drift. You are not dumb just a learning experience!
