I e-mailed Cummins and asked when the new HO would be available in MA, and they told me that Dodge has to answer that.

If the problem is emissions, wouldn't the engine maker know when the problem would be solved? Any clarification would be appreciated. Thanks.

Bob,

Probably because Dodge markets the truck. I thought I heard that MA was going to lift the restriction? I think it was posted here a while back.

Dean,

How do you like the '03 truck? Any major complaints? Your truck is very similar to what I would like to get next. Thanks for any info.

Bob

I love itOo. . This is my 3rd CTD and by far the best. I have had no problems so far and would buy exactly the same truck again in a heartbeat. If you have any specific questions, drop me a pm.

Dean

Dean,

The only thing that could possibly improve your truck is BLACK paint. :--) :D :D :D

Casey,

Been there, done that. I learned my lesson;) ;) SILVER :cool: :D :D Black sure looks good with a little Canadian salt on it, eh:{ :{

onestackdram,

In CA, MA and ME the new HO isn't available due to stricter emission laws.

After Cummins said to ask Dodge, I e-mailed Dodge and they said it was due to emissions, which brings me back to my first point, if the problem is emissions, why did Cummins seem to pass the ball to Dodge? I'm confused and frustrated.

Bob W--That might be my old post. I talked to the salesman I got my 02 from about that, just out of curiosity,he said that MA lifted the ban because it raised the emissions. That's what he heard. . The dealer is IRA Dodge in Medford. PM me if you want the salesmans name...

BigDig,

That seems like wishful thinking on the behalf of the salesman, that is MA lifting ANY regulations, especially those that concern the "environment?" I was informed that if you bought an HO in Rhode Island, you would find it unregisterable once you got it back to MA. Not sure if this is true. Anyone know?

If they mirror California's rules then it's true. I may be wrong on this but I think In Cali you can't register a out of state HO unless it has over 7500 mile's.

here's my question to buying one out of state then trying to register it. How would they know whether the truck is HO or not. Is there something in the VIN # that comes up on their comp? Other wise it's my experience with the DMV that most of them wouldn't know there elbow from their a**hole. Sorry for the profanity but its the best analogy that fits them.

I know my question is probably ignorant in itself, but I'm just curious
