hey everyone i was told that when a motor is hopped up a significant amount that there needs to be more breathers installed. Is this true or not i have seen trucks with valve covers which have been modified to accept a small air filter is this wise to put there or is there somewhere else better?

I see it as insurance against blowing a tappet cover at the very least, but yes, crank case breathing is definately beneficial. The OEM covers that replace two valve covers with one breather are really nice, but expensive.

you can buy some of the cheap push-in breathers at Vato Zone that will work, but they'll leave oil residue on the covers

kind of off topic but i have been dumping al little more oil than usual out of my vent tube. do i need a breather put on? about a quart dumps out every 5k it seems.
