You guys do the best you can. The avatars and other cute things are a lot of fun, but the info is the most important thing. You will most probably end up being self hosted.

Performance is way up though. good work.



I get to see performance stats on our databases everyonce in a while. (JD EDwards) Some of the General Ledger files get to be millions of records and do nuthim=n but grow. It's a nightmare.

The avatars still show up if you click on a persons profile, you'll see their avatar. It just won't display under there name each time they post.

I dont know much about computers, but IMO I'd rather limit your sig to say 5 or 6 lines rather than kill the avitars.

A lot of the time, the sig is 5X longer than the actual post.

I understand... ... have you read the "annoucement" on this? It explains just how big of a performance issue the avatars play in part to the "big" picture. I thought it was quite interesting. Sure they are fun... . but just "eye candy". If my post above seemed harsh. . sorry. . it wasn't meant like that.

I've been getting plenty "server busy" screens, so I know why they've done this.

I am serious about the sigs. If someone posts a reply, why in the he!! would anyone need to add a (250+ word)sig on each two word reply?
