Just ordered #10 plate, 3K GSK, 60lb exhaust springs, and DDII injectors from Piers. Running a stock auto so from what I've read I'll need to take it easy on the transmission until the trip to DTT.

Questions: Is anyone else running this setup on a '96 auto? If so, any dyno #'s? What can I expect for EGT with/without Cat should it happen to fall off? Can I go with a 3" - 4" adapter pipe in place of the Cat and keep the stock muffler without getting drone?

Thanks for all replies and any additional information about these upgrades. Looking forward to them :D :D :D

How soon is your trip to DTT planned? :rolleyes: :eek:

Sorry not to be a butthead, but if you dump all of that in on your factory slushbox in a 96 it won't take much playing before that transmission starts screaming uncle! Either run JUST the plate or JUST the injectors but if you have to run both run the plate full back to save your poor slushbox till you can upgrade it.

Look at my #'s in my sig... ... . I think I'm hearing some signs that my transmission is moaning uncle as well :rolleyes: :{

If that ever happens I'm getting a loan for a 6spd kit.

Good idea about easing into all of the upgrades. As suggested, I think I'll start with the plate and springs, then wait until the trans. update for the injectors. What is the best bang for th e buck method for decreasing EGT and smoke? Thought about bigger housing (14 or 16) and eliminating the Cat. My trip to DTT is waiting for Uncle Sam and the refund express.

I used illflem's recipe for losing the cat. 3" to 3 1/2" adapter to 30"+/- of 3 1/2" pipe to 3 1/2" to 4" adapter and all new clamps. Bought parts at Napa for around $50. You can get the "test pipe" at the dealer for about the same price. Do a search for "test pipe" on here and you can get the part number. I have no drone at any point. No gauges yet, so I don't know what egt loss I have either. Really no change in sound. My wife didn't notice and she's pretty sensitive to things like that. Only thing is when your standing at or near the tailpipe at idle, it's a bit different. The pac brake has more hiss to it now. I'm getting ready to start bombing as well. :cool:
