Back in the early '90's, one of the older Ambulances in the fleet was a 6. 9L with someting like 275K on it at the time. Of course that was the one that I was stuck with on a regular basis. You didn't dare shut the thing down during a shift for anything. An act of God couldn't have gotten that thing refired. I'm almost sure that it would go days at a time at idle. We would even let it run during shift change... .....
