Well guys I bought a Duramax, I hope it does well for me. I just couldnt find an 03 CTD. So the 1994 is up for sell if anyone is interested.

should be a nice truck. dont keep it past 100K i would hate to see the cost on that vvt. i saw an international dt365 (vvt turbo) the other day (brand new truck) blowing black smoke undoubtedly the vains on the turbo were stuck b/c he was pouring black smoke even though he was just cruising with no load. good luck!

Traitor! Just kidding, enjoy the new truck. :D

Well keep us informed anyway, it will be nice to see if the general has resolved some of it's earlier problems:)

I'm sure our point of view is skewed because the only posts we see are Duramx owners who have switched to Cummins. Hopefully yours will be good.

I agree with Grey Wolf, keep us informed. Best of luck.

Will probably do some minor mods sometime. This thing has to earn my TRUST first. I really wanted a full 4 door truck and Dodge just doesnt offer it yet, plus I got a heck of a deal. I will keep you guys posted as how its doing, but it seems really strong stock and the transmission is awesome.

I really liked mine. I got rid of it with only 46000 miles. Just didn't need it anymore. The Duramaximizer was a good mod. I did that and a straight through muffler and it really seemed to help. Fuel mileage was always bad though.

I have both a Duramax and a Cummins engined Chevy - I love both for different reasons, but I have to say the new Dodge with the super quiet CTD, is looking more and more appealing :D .

Now dont get me wrong, I love the cummins engine, but the Chevy people have done their homework regarding comfort level.

I just didnt get the quality feeling when I drove the Dodges. But then again it also came down to the deal I was able to work out.
