Why Does The Right Tire Spin With Open Rear?

What is my truck worth? Possibly selling

Wouldn't be a bad idea to keep a new cam position sensor handy. For some guys, they last over 100k miles, some replace them well before that.

That bit of praise is coming from a guy that has scattered more PSD parts on the east coast than any other ford owner. :--) So take it with a grain of salt.

heck a 95 at 97 specs. i used to own a 99 powerstroke which for endless reasons i traded for a 96 dodge cummins. at least my cummins has not left me stranded like my 99 powersmoke did (twice). i am not trying to bust your stones but i have been through the powerstroke era and i won't go back. if i were to go to another rig my secondary one would be a duramax but my primary would always be a cummins. at least the duramax starts up.

Well- I drive a poerstroke as my work truck, and all I can say is good luck... I do really wish you the best with your truck. Hopefully your truck will be better then the fleet trucks we drive.

Our next company trucks are supposed to be chevy's. Couldn't get them into Dodge because of available color- of all things. (Most of us drive CTD as personal trucks)

Hope your truck works out well.

Greg

Well you've got to start somewhere, good luck with her. There is a shop in Corinth that kind of specializes in Powerstrokes, he'll work on anything but has a Ford himself. You can get parts from him too. B&A Diesel is the name of the shop. It's nothing fancy there but it's something.

Those of us who've been paid quite well to work on those trucks for a long time know there are enough differences between the last non intercooled engines (97) and the first intercooled engines (99 model year, 98 build date) to say that his older truck will be a good runner.

Sure they have common problems, but so do Dodges, GMs, all of them can be classified as "junk" if we want to start getting technical.

I'll say this on record, the 12 valve 5. 9 Cummins may be a better engine, but the Dodge is *not* a better truck.

Flame me, go ahead..... I'm ready. :)

id flame you but your right. i laughed at my uncle every time he had an issue with his 96 psd. then i found out that the cummins and the dodge truck arent built equally. at least the dodge looks better ;)

good luck with the ford :)

Believe it or not the myriad of trouble with these trucks hasn't been the engine. Sure we have had some of the typical motor problems. Most trouble seems to be with suspension and electronics. The company truck creaks , pops, graons and rattles, and is a nightmare to drive on a rough road when the road is wet. Talk about lack of traction. Having driven both fords and my personal CTD's now for 10 years. (10 years on my 94 and now my 2004) and various company fords over the last 5 years there is no comparison in quility of ride and repairs. -- of course I fully realize that I may have been lucky with my CTD trucks, but I do look forward to the weekend drive. It is also possible that ford has fixed aot of stuff recently. My company truck is an 01, as is most of the current fleet(about 12 trucks).

Again, I hope your truck is great and the product has improved-- Hey after swearing of ford for reasons of personal bad experiences with my own ford vehicles I sure am likin that new Stang.

Keep us up to speed on how your truck treats you.

Reread you first post and saw that we are talking about a 95. My posts centered on the bad luck I have had with newer fords. Don't know too much about pre 2000 trucks. Sorry for the confusion.

Greg

congrats on the truck bogo, ive had three fords with 7. 3 engines ,the last two were strokes, couldnt, havent killed them yet! they work or tow nearly everyday, they have been great trucks with great engines, and i can give a whole list of others who feel the same way...
