If I have it, it is not working. My ABS light is not on. If I slam the brakes on and turn the wheel a little so the rears dont follow the fronts, 4 solid stripes. I kinda like not having ABS I dont think I will do anything about it.

Has this happend to any one else? What could cause this problem without the light going on.

Thanks
Jordan

Rear wheel anti-lock was standard in 2000, and I thought prior to that. Also, there is a load sensitivity proportioning valve for the rear brakes. If both are functioning, the rear tires should have stayed unlocked.

Rear ABS has been standard since before the 2nd gen trucks came out. I have noticed that ABS does not always work exactly the way it should.

ABS sounded like a good idea. It works on cars, but sucks on trucks. Try mashing the pedal down hard on a washboard road and you'll find you have no brakes. Every time you hit a bump the computer thinks you've lost traction and releases the brakes. You're better off without'em. IMHO

Oops, too late. What silencer ring? (More fun than my 98 SST)

Yes,we all have at least rear ABS. On a 2500 it is optional to have 4-wheel ABS,and the 4-wheel disc trucks all have 4-wheel ABS.

ABS was not standard equipment until the '01. 5s. If you have ABS you'd find the control assembly near the brake master cylinder.
