I have a 2000 Dodge Ram, Automatic (with a new Jasper Transmission)... . I want to make it loud and get some power out of it. Every vehicle that I've previously owned was so easy to decide what to do and what needs to be done. I'm running into a problem with my Diesel. There is so much information out there I would just like someone to cut to the chase and tell me what I need to get and why.

Like I said before I would like it loud and fast, I'm young so I need the power :). Thank you all for your help.

Probably least expensive would be a straight pipe. All who have done this seem to love it. Go 4" now - save on retrofitting latter. Maybe straight pipe dual tailpipes?

Don't throw away your resonator, however. Most have said the drone will get to you after a while.

Chech out 4" "Mufflerless" here, http://www.protintnw.com/sa_dodge-exh.htm

I love the quality of my 4" DPP from Rod @ Wildcat Diesel http://www.wildcatdiesel.com/

DPP has a dual system now - but may be to mellow (quiet) for you.

Good Luck!

Here is a link to one of the best threads on what to do. You might have to pick different vendors or new products, but Ted J lists what you need to do and what order.
