You Know You're a Canadian when . . . .

I'm Redneck Toadstomper's little girl - and I'm baaaack!!!! He's gone right now and for those of you that know about our banter, he's still UGLY! He has started calling me Rednut Tuffstunker. Oh well, enough of this.

We got our school newspaper the other day and there was an article about us going to war with Iraq and what some of the students thought about it. I was shocked about what some of the boys said!!!

One boy thought it was, "over oil" and that President Bush is an oil baron and just wants the oil. This same (baby) boy goes on to say that he is against any draft since he will soon be 18 and could be sent away to fight. He finished by saying, "as long as I don't get drafted, I don't care. If they want a war, fine".

Another boy commented, "if the draft is ever reinstated, you'd be able to find me in a providence of Canada".

In front of my 5th hour class I called both of them diaper wetting wimps and told them that they didn't have a thing to worry about. All us girls were going to join up so they could continue to be diaper wetting babies. One of the boys shot a cut-down back at me and being my daddy's girl and reading too many posts on this site, I returned fire. I told him that the butt doctor called and left a message that they found his head. My teacher went hysterical then so did the rest of the class. I was mad and not trying to be funny, it just turned out that way with the way my teacher took it. What I said is all over school now and these guys are taking some heat. I got detention after school for 1 day.

Like my dad says FREEDOM AIN"T FREE!!!

He also said to tone it down. :D

That's right Redneck Toadstomper, freedom is not free. I am amazed at the attitude of both young and mid aged people in my area. Many believe the same thing that those boys believe, yet they are the ones sniviling and whining about others moving to this part of the country, like it's thiers. These same people also like to make the rules and blame ALL the worlds problems on Bush and republicans in general. These same people travel to far off countries in the off season and yet they crab at me because I do snowmachine tours in this area. They live in a bubble, some day it will pop!

All and all I've had a pretty good life so far, I deeply respect and honor those who have commited to fight for this country. My great uncle Alexander Stiller fought in WWI and WWII along side General George Patton. Al Stiller was 47 years of age when he got the call from Patton to come be his gunman and body gaurd in WWII. I wonder how many of us would be willing to drop what we are doing right now and go fight? I feel like much of America has gotten soft. Forgotten are the hard times that has led to all the good times we have enjoyed. I feel like there is a hardening in our future. I will say, that if there is a draft, and if our unguided youth can't see the importance of fullfilling thier duty to this for thier country, some of us, no matter what the age will have to do it for them. Having said that, at 36 yrs. old, I am willing to go if they need me, no one will have to call or come get me. I have felt this way since 9/11 and before, I do owe.

Good for you for standing up for what you believe! There is one real lucky guy in your future, I just hope he gets along with your old man!

If and when the time comes, I'll likely join before getting drafted, so I can pick my colors. I'm approaching the ripe old age of 29, maybe they wouldn't take me. :(

I agree the future is scary, but if we don't stand up to terrorists and those who support and/or harbor them the tyranny will never end. If we rid them of this world maybe someday we can all live in piece. (anything's possible:) )

Keep your chin up!

Redneck's Little Girl... God bless you and don't be scared... there are more of us brave than "panty waisted" be sure of that.

If I was your father I'd be proud to tears.

Red.....'s daughter Great Job!!

Here are a few more quotes and sources for your teacher and your school paper:

"Freedom is not Free" from Korean War Veterans Memorial

"To those who have fought for it, freedom has a flavor the protected will never know. " - unknown author - found written in a foxhole in Korea.

"God grants liberty only to those who love it, and are always ready to guard it and defend it. " - Daniel Webster

I don't remember where I got this one:

"It is the Soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the Soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate

It is the Soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the Soldier who salutes the flag, serves under the flag and whose coffin is draped by the flag who gives the protester the right to burn the flag. "

I guess we could add one more ;) Its the Soldier, not the panty waist wimpering boys, who has given the draft dodgers the freedom to go to Canada. ;)

I abhor (hate) war, but at times it is necessary. I went to Vietnam as a Navy Hospital Corpsman and served in country with the US Marines. I would do it again, but the only thing that stopped me from going to the recruiter after 9/11 was my neighbor, also a Corpsman who served with the Marines in Vietnam, beat me to it and the recruiter laughed at him. We feel we could be instructors in the states as we are over weight and have a few medical problems, but we still want to help... . in the war on terrorism and Saddam if necessary.

I don't think we should be the lone aggressors, but I don't think we can sit and do nothing. I support our president. Saddam must dis-arm, by his choice or have it forced on him, but we cannot and should not wait for ever.

Thank you for reminding all of us that we too need to speak up and not just be a silent majority.

With love and admiration, "doc"

Good Job!! I, too, am ready and already on active duty.

Something to ponder from John Stuart Mill:

War is an ugly thing, but not the ulgiest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

People who love liberty shoud be scared ...

"I feel scared about the future "

You should feel scared. This country will in short order become another 3rd world **** hole.

The majority of this country is made up of "pantie waist whimpering" people who have no beliefs they would fight for. All people care about it seems is their 401K's, what "toys" they can buy, "did ya see the game last night", and Joe Millionaire.

You try to talk to some people about the events of the day and all you get is "don't bother me with that stuff ... I don't care".

The people who protested the upcoming war this past weekend are another example of where this country is heading. Hate America, Socialist/Communist/Anarchist crowd. But really, it is the "Hate Bush" crowd ... pure and simple.

Politics in this country has so divided us that we are now almost at the point the country was in, in 1859/1860. Its not just a disagreement between the parties ... it is absolute hatred of each other ... as much if not more than the hatred between US and the Soviet Union of the past.

I hope that when it comes down to the inevitable all-out bloodshed in this country in the future, that this time there will be two separate counties ... one for those who value their liberty and are willing to protect it despite the foreign community and world opinion, and one for those who are willing to submit their sovereignty to world opinion and their liberty to the idea of a one world government.

I have a question for the anti-war crowd. They claim that we are heading into a war with Iraq for no good reason. There is no smoking gun. Here's my question:

If we could go back in time knowing what we know now, and the US decided to attack Afganistan before Sept 11. , how many of them would sit in the top floors of the WTC on that fateful morning if it meant no war then? We had no reason to attack them because up until that point they hadn't done anything to us. But if the gov. had the info before hand and wanted to take care of the problem before it became one, there would have been protests no doubt.

So ask them that. Who knows what's coming our way next.

Good question John.

I want to know why there were no anti-war protest when Bill Clinton sent what? 400+ cruise missiles into Baghdad during the Monica trial.

Did those missiles accomplish anything?

Just another question that will never be answered.

No one your age should be scared of/for the future. Or worried about it. But it should be an ongoing concern.

The future will bring what it brings. The best you can hope to do is to concern yourself with the past and present, and try to aim your little corner of the world in the right direction for the fture.

Or, in other words, know where "you've" been, where "you" are, and where "you" are going. Here, "you" is the collectiive you, meaning a group of one to a group of many.

It is true that you can't change the world. But it is also very true that you *can* change your little corner of it. When enough people decide to change their corners for the better, things will look up.

In the meantime, we must needs accept that which we cannot change and change that which we can - but only if it needs changing for the better.

Of course, thid brings up what you get for your efforts, but the dichotomy between altruism and self-gratification is a topic best left for another thread. :)
