i finally purchased a an AFE Stage II and got some q's

greetings,



took a short term project away from home and will be on per diem for about 6 months. i figure if i skip a couple of meals i will pay for some bombs like the afe!!



i put it in tonight. not real happy with the connection to the turbo. seems to be air tight but the alternator is keeping it from seating really well, i think. is it worth a heineken for anyone to come by and make sure everything is ok?



the other question is the top will only align with two holes. either the two closest to the engine or the two farthest from the engine. is this normal?



will take it for a drive without the top of the box tomorrow... we'll see.



i'm in the SF Bay area this weekend and won't be back until memorial day if anyone can stop by.



p. s. any of you NW bombers out there know of a cheap place to stay in Sammamish or Bellevue let me know. The more i can save on living expenses the more i can use for bombs!!!

The box may have gotten tweaked during shipping..... you should watch a ups truck get loaded sometime. You should be able to MANIPULATE the box back into shape to get the lid hold down bolts to line up.

we're not talking a little bit because of a tweak. we are talking maybe an inch and a half. if i want the two bolts closest to the engine to fit they will, but the two next to the fender will be out. if the two next to the fender go in then the ones next to the engine will be out by 1. 5 inch. wanted to know if this is the way they are or if there was an oops...

thanks, i called the guy i bought it from stewart and stewart in san diego (awesome price on a package magna flow and afe) and he gave me their number. only several minutes ago i got off the phone with a wonderfully helpful young lady and she is sending me a new top and free return shipping for the original top.



as with anything i consider the tdr as resident experts, that's why i ask you guys for help first... it just may have been designed that way and i'd rather look like a doofuss in front of a friendly bunch like you guys than a manufacturer i know very little about.



by they way... following the instructions and notching the battery box made the installation VERY easy, i tried not cutting but it just wouldn't go. at least i justified the new rotozip to my wife...
