I had an offer on a 93,4X4,5 Speed (new by the way), Club cab. I waited two weeks figuring it would have sold or the seller would hold out for more $'s. I got the call yesterday and they took my offer. :D

I drove it home last night, and now the process begins. What to do with it? The body and interior are rough. Some switches and speedo don't work right and missing window parts. A total restore is out of the question. What started the hunt for a truck or at least keeping an eye out was the desire to change my 350 to a manual four wheel drive. The cheapest drive train I could find put the project off the board plus I had to give up my auto for the deal. I got the whole truck for less than a few parts.

Also I want to put the extra engine with the auto in my 76 ford one ton. Is there a problem with running the auto without the 92s computers?

OR? Just make the 93 drivable and use as a platform for "Experiments". :-laf

Either way, I'm happy as can be. Has anybody done either of these projects? If so, please post your experiences and pics. Your input please.

swapping the engine/auto into a '76 would be great!! the auto doesn't need the computer, it only runs overdrive. i put a rocker switch in for it. as for the '93, if you realy can't decide what to do with it... . let me know i'll come out there and get it outa your way. :)

I worked on the 93 yesterday a little. Pulled the wheels off and pressure washed about 50lbs of mung off the old girl. Stripped all the hanging junk. Flaps, old brkts, Muffler and smashed pipe, steps ect,,, I put the "good tires" on the front and made a fuel run. Wow. this truck is allright. Cannot think of parting her out now. She'll never be a show truck but what a worker. I think I'll slowly bring her along make her one of the family.

However now I know why so many are talking about the Borgensen Steering shaft. Loose is not the word. I'll be looking into that.

Rebel just spend some time on her and she will be a nice truck someday, even a decent paint job on it and a little interior work and then a nice truck to drive that gets very good fuel mileage, good luck ;)

I just installed a muffler to accompany the five inch stacks and electric mirrors. With each change/mod it's like getting a new truck. I felt the same way when the truck was painted etc. etc.

Yes. I think that I NOW have enough trucks that need TLC for all the weekends in the forseable future. Im gona hold pat right here.
