Raced a new Nissan Titan from a 3rd gear roll and got beat :( ... . Not bad, but I still got beat... . I can row through the gears pretty well, but didn't quite have enough. He started pulling me in fifth gear, he maybe had 1 or 1 1/2 truck lengths. His was an auto of course and he had straight exhaust, thats all I know about the truck... . He just happened to roll up to me when I was feeling froggy.

Mods are in sig, plus I have straight piped the truck... . HIS was louder though... .

Not mad about it, but I thought I would have gotten him on the big end

Needed more mods anyway :D

John :)

That 5. 6 L in the Titan puts out some serious power, it's funny as it is rated lower than the hemi, but in comparable trucks, the Titan smokes the Ram 1500. I think Nissan is sandbagging a little on the HP and TQ of that motor.

Nissan Titans need to be fast...

they're so ugly you really don't want to be seen in one. :p

Does'nt matter if my truck is slower. Put equally loaded trailers on both and see who can go faster in a top gear roll-on.

Besides, nothing beats the cool factor of the CTD. :D

I have only driven a few hemi's, and can say that I was not impressed, The 98' 1500 with a 360 would have stayed close to the hemi's I have driven. I have driven a lot of stock gm pickups with a 350 that were much more impressive. May be the hemi's where lemons and light on power, or they needed to be broke in, or just maybe Dodge was cherry picking when they selected the motors that posted hp numbers.

I have driven one 1500/hemi and was not at all impressed. Drove one magnum w/hemi... . wow, what a car... totally fast and handles great.....

It is a sad day to get smoked by an unloaded Titan. How about this: call for a do-over with the guy and hook 8000 lbs trailers. That should be an eye opener for the Titan.....

Titan is a little on the light side...

THAT's Funny! :-laf

Of course, our trucks wiegh 7000 plus pounds, and the Titan shows a curb weight of 4966 pounds... . so you could hook up an 16000 lb trailer to your truck, and a 10000 pound trailer to the titan... Ohh... . no you can't, it can only tow 9500 lbs.....

Still not sure why we drag race our "trucks". Now that Cobra on the other hand, well, let's just say if I had a monster like that, I"d have no steering papers left...

Yeah... . The Cobra is fun :D But it's not often a car comes up on me that even poses a challenge. :-laf There are a few out there, but I have yet to run up on them yet :)

I used to have a 2002 5. 9L gasser and a friend of mine has a 2003 "Hemi" No contest... . No Mas No Mas..... He had me from start to finish. Maybe the "Hemi" isn't as bad as eveyone thinks but is a lot better motor than the old Magnum 5. 9L Jus' my two cents

TFerrning- Your right. We traded a 2000 Durango with a 5. 9 on it and it would run great. But it wouldn't come close to keeping up with the Hemi.

I plan on putting a bigger intake and adding a chip. Id like to get it up to around 380-390hp. I have read that these trucks chipped are truly super running trucks.

Don't feel bad, that rice burner is running an all aluminum engine, and I can't imagine what they think the like cycle would be with one of them... They have decent power numbers and are very light for a truck...

BUT... .

My neighbor got one right after I got my truck, he came up telling me how much better it was then a dodge and how it could even pull more (and he was referring to my CTD  )... he also made it a point to show me how much better the interior was compared to the dodges... He opened and closed those back sucide doors and I swear the entire truck body moved. A couple of weeks later he came down the street driving a obvious Nissian loaner car with his head ducted down real low, I made a point of waving to him while I was waxing mine in the drive way... I couple of days later his kid stopped by and I asked him how his dad liked the truck :-laf , he said it was alright but he is ready to trade it in on a new dodge, because the back doors kept breaking the latches and then the doors won't close  ... He has been ducting me ever since... If the doors break from just opening and closing, then think about how that thing would hold up in a crash  ... .

Why not bump it to level 5?. . I could tell a change (SOP) from level 4 to level 5. . . I bet it would have been just the extra little bit you needed... Be careful though you won't want to put it back down on the lower levels.

I like playing with Cobras, Corvettes, Camaros, etc etc. All I am running is a Buick V-6 with a little turbo :-laf . Some have heard of it, Buick Grand National, some have not (feel sorry for those guys, they never knew what happened most of the time :D ) BTW, there has been some slight modding to the little V-6 :D . Always fun to see guys faces when they see grandpa's Buick comes whistling by them at 25 psi boost :-laf Scares the **** out of me :D
