Jeepmullet said:While I dont deny that a scenario like that happened, what one needs to realize is that jetskis are not always the ''give way'' boats. Know the rules for overtaking people or meeting a boat from each direction (not saying you dont). I have a relative who told me this scenario about how she was riding with her husband and a jetski approached from the side, going perpendicular to them. The PWC'er may not have known the rules, but from her description of the situation, their boat was the give way boat and the jetski was to stand on course in that situation.
I dont yield to other boats when it's not my job to. I spent a long time helping my brother study for the boat license in MO, and know the rules.
Edit: I dont know your situation at all, and am not questioning that the jetskier was wrong (if he was) but people need to realize that just because they have a family in their boat doesnt give them the right to point the nose in any direction and ride.

No one heading down river, the last I looked behind me there was nothing. 10 seconds later we got buzzed by 3 PWC's, the one that soaked us was about 3' from my post side, the channel is at least 150' wide in this one spot.
They were just being PRICKS!
I also have a problem with fishing boats who find it necessary to anchor in the channel, especially when it is a Sat or Sun with a lot of boat traffic.

20 to 30' offshore fishing boats... also, when they troll, they must have 300' of line out behind them... and the worst part is, the river is watched by the DEP, Coast Guard, and 2 different town police depts, all of which say nothing to these guys... :-{}
