Id rather watch those trucks on a sled that will see what there real abillities are .

Everyone makes a big stink about daves tires ... whats the big deal??? it is an open class last I checked ..... I think peoples are upset because they know he has the POWER to Turn them ... where as Schied has to use SLICKS OR POWER OUT tring to get up to speed. .

HEHEHHEHHE

I LIKE SCHIEDS I GET Parts OFF THEM A GOOD BIT .

And The Dually is SWEET

IS it NOT OK TO LIKE BOTH TRUCKS

GEEESSSHHH

Im Not siding with EEP

I JUST SAID WHAT I THOUGHT WOULD HAPPEN . ANd My OPINIONS on the major diffrences on the two trucks ... each has its own best traits..... personally I perfer the .....

PULLING- TRUCK- THAT- PULLS- BETTER ... ...

SORRY IF THAT SEAMS WRONG TO SOMEONE

LOL

I'm sorry jaggoff... . who's my BOY?? Unlike you, I pull a truck and work on a couple others. And I'm gonna be driving an ATPA blown 2 wheeler and a Lt. alky super part-time this year. I guess I won't have time to dream about my idol and type stupid posts. SORRY

Figures you're from OH. [/QUOTE]

Hey, whats so wrong with Ohio? Besides the weather and idiots living around us, Ohio is a wonderful place to live.

John

Whats wrong with Ohio?

Its in my way to go anywhere, and too big to drive around, and too risky to speed, not that you could, because the trucks are going 55 in the HAMMER LANE!!!!!!

That is the start of the list..... :D

I think that is included in the part about the idiots around us. As I recall hearing, sledpuller, you made a few trips to a shop about 5 minutes away from me. And as I see on their website, you got a little paper reminder on one of your trips.

John

I think the Glenford pull last fall was a good show for the open trucks. It was a dig in and see what ya got type track. I dont think i have ever saw Kent's truck actually get worked that hard.

IMO

sled pulling is to show whos truck is MORE of a truck as well as showing the drivers knowlage of his brain child. Kind of I can build mine better sort of thing alond with the Adrenilen rush driving .

Running highest rpm possible ,,,,, Has nothing to do with truck pulling Look at how low RPM CTD are stock and they will out pull a red lined GAsser .

Most ground speed ..... uhhhhh... . I pretty sure thats for the drag racers many bad CTD dragsters

ITS MOST GROUND POWER thats what pulling a sled signifies

Kind of hard to get away from the whole piont of it but THEY HAVE !!

The WHOLE point it who can pull the sled, any sled the farthest. Right? I can't comment on the Shied/EEP trucks, don't get to watch them, but I have been to lots of pulls and competed in many that range from stock trucks to wild Busch Grand National tractors. The truck/tractor that can pull the sled the farthest wins. I have never watched a truck pull granny gear and win the pull, when everybody else can pull 2nd or third. I have never watched anybody with a good hook run down the track at 2000 rpms and win over another truck pulling the same gear running 7,000 rpms. I know for a fact my cummins in granny low will pull best in 1st gear low range. Do you think I will win any pulls with that selection? No, because any sled will stop my truck because it will lose traction very quickly. Now it would make it more interesting if everybody used first gear low. But then it would still come down to who ran the most RPMs. Ok, so now you limit the rpms, gear, and then we have a true contest with pulling power. Then you have a boring, antique tractor pull. What fun is that?

Yes we are pulling, yes we are proving who has the best setup, best driver, for the weight class, day, track, sled. Shieds and Mitchell could go head to head any day on the same track, and the outcome might be differnt each time they let er rip. Thats the beauty of pulling. You have a good idea which trucks will be at the top of the class, but untill the last one unhooks from the sled we don't know.

I LOVE watching the big multi turbo tractors pull the "Iron Man" Sleds. Even though they are "plow sleds" you still see who can pull it when the pan drops. Some tractors stop real quick and some keep pulling. I love the shows when the track is tacky, the sled is heavy and the tractors are getting pulled to thier knees. That is pulling.

The Shied/EEP thing has been going on for ever. Even since before diesel trucks were hooked to sleds. A truck that makes more torque will win on some tracks, and the wide open high reving trucks pull better on other tracks. It keeps it intersting.

Yes I do not have a diesel puller, I just pull a lowly 440 in a 75 dodge. Maybe someone will buy it and I can build a puller to talk about on the TDR. I have seen many stock diesels be out pulled by big block gassers. Even without using a plow sled. RPMS and speed must have something to do with it. Or else EEP would have never made a slipper clutch!

Michael

I like the "Iron Man" seld also as he is a local around my parts. i have pulled that "Plow" sled many time with my truck and tractor and frankly i like it. just my 2 cents.

SAME TRACK

SAME DAY

SAME DRIVERS

SAME TRUCKS

First pull a "PLOW" Sled

Second Pull A REAL TRANSFER SLED

The Results will be alot diffrent IMO

To Get the TRUE RESULTS Based On POWER alone

MY OPINION
Is you have to pull a real transfer sled

thats All Im saying

Heck, probably get differnt results just letting them hook several times without changing sleds. I understand you don't like the "plow sleds" but I guess it doesn't bother me.

If there is such a big differnce in the power band of the trucks, I think track conditions and the ability of the drivers will be a bigger differnce then the sled they hook too.

Michael

Welcome back friend... ... .....

What does that matter ???

I already stated that my opinions on the Plow sleds are based as a spectator.

I have nothing to prove

I Do think that every day you think ... ... . Im bad because I pull a truck so I can talk how ever I want .

ITs not really that big of a deal to me

I have pulled about 6 diffrent trucks all gassers

best was 3rd of 65

I did it FOR THE RUSH and for that fealling that comes over you when your joined MAN AND BEAST ... . you gain a bond as you realize your both after the same goal... . crossing the 300 ft mark

I didnt do it for the SOCIAL MARKS

I did it because its a wonderful expirence.

MY o2 just cleared 40k and I drive it to work every day so till I get a First Gen I will be a spectator ... plus I need something to tow my truck to the pulls when Im done.

While Im a spectator Im hoping for real transfer sleds as I arrive at the venues When I see A PLOW BOY I sigh ... . "THERES ANOTHER ONE"

Keep up the good work

DM

mitchell is 5th best. kent, terry, van, and now curt haisley are the top four. it was curt that won at georgia. it was the same track, same sled, and no cut tires at shelbyville last year. same results. kent and terry on top.
