Brakes HELP!

Yup, thats right. I said it and I'm standing by it!!!

I read about low power, bad mileage, noises, bumps, steering woes and anything else that can possibly go wrong with mechanical apparatus.

I then think to myself, HEY, that kinda sounds like what is going on with MY truck. So I dig, research, break out the owners manual, and start the long process of diagnosis/repair.

ONLY to find that MY 2nd gen truck is FINE!!!

Be aware... this is a trap that the government has set to keep all Cummins owners busy with their trucks instead of keeping current with World Politics and having a family life. DO NOT fall victim to this outrageous ploy by BIG BROTHER!!!

I have seen the enemy and IT IS US!!!

(man, this one ought to flame a few) :p :p :p

Watch it, this site is addictive as nicotene.

Addictive? Yes!

But, by diagnosing all of those alleged problems, you learn a lot about the Cummins!

My wife used to wonder why I would do all of this... now she enjoys the power as much as me, and if we break down alongside the road, I know just enough to be dangerous, but hopefully get us going again!

If i did not have this site id still be driving my POS 12mpg QX4. I love this place. All my friends who have other cars wish there was a site devoted to there vehicles

If I didn't stumble upon this site I would still be driving a Cummins, but it would be sickly and under maintained.

Help,Ive fallen prey and cant get up. :p :p :p Ive just spent 3 hours a night since Monday waxing,shining and caressing my truck. This for what reason?The Timberline BBQ!Fun,games,fellowship. My wife and I have met more people,traveled many miles and seen more sights since Ive joined TDR. Get a life?What could be better. :D :D :D

I like BigSaint stumbled accross this site by accident. If I hadn't found this site, I would be driving a PowerStroke. I had been a Ford man all my life, but loved the 2nd Generation Dodges ever since they came out. Finding this site and learning more about the Mighty Cummins changed my thoughts totally. And I have never been sorry!

It just amazes me how much time I actually spend on the boards, gleaming info, research, how-to's, what works, what doesn't, etc.

"Best thing since Peanut Butter"

Its nice to know you can get the whole enchilada here, good and bad. Besides, it's kinda fun to watch the fireworks fly between members that have differing opinions.

I hope that the board will keep its autonomy, even in the face of it's ADVERTISERS and CORPORATIONS. (Are you listening Admin???) Its too bad that a few gripes by advertisers can change things (remember the group purchases?) ;) ;)

First time I heard of TDR.

The first time I found out about TDR I think(oh that hurts)it was in 93 or 94. I was test driving a used 1982 Mercedes Turbo-Diesel. In the glove box was an old tattered issue of TDR. Wish I still had it. Then in 1996 I learned of TDR website. Life ain't been the same.

I think since the big upgrade TDR has gotten better. At least now BIG brother listens.

Tim:eek:

Dittos to what everyone said. Don't worry about the world political situation. Ronald Reagan doesn't take any I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER. As long as he's the prez, we'll be fine spending all of that spare time working on our Cummins.

John Berger is the luckiest man alive. He surfed and BOMBed here so much, he was fortunate enough to miss the most corrupt and inept administration in our country's history. :eek: I log-on here every morning as soon as I walk in from my job. This place is very addictive AND expen$ive once you make that first seemingly harmless upgrade. :) :) :cool:

hehe, this site really is an escape from the real world. I think my buddies here at work are about to have me placed in a 12 step program for TDR and BOMBing

Yeah right,

If I hadn't stumbled across this sight, I'd have one hell of alot more money in the bank!!

I'd also be flogging myself dragging around 10,000 pounds of enclosed race trailer with my '95 1500 4X4 Club Cab with 360 gasser. Don't know how I did that for 6 years!:rolleyes:

Todd

I usualy spend 1 to 1 1/2 hours each night surfing the forms. Beside if I had not of stumbled into the TDR I would still be driving my V-10 gasser (What a pig it was in the mileage department), although it did have lots of power.

:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Let's see, I was on the (then) CDW website the very first day (January 14th, 1999)... I believe Mark Kitchell was the one that linked all of us Dodge/Cummins boys over from the Happy Campers BB. The TDR website evolved from the CDW website in (I believe) August 1999. So, how could you have heard of the TDR website in 1996?

:confused::confused::confused::confused:

I figure the time wasted reading all of these posts has saved me an engine. I Stopped using the POS FRAM oil filters, that I have used on my 99 and my 92 CTD.

Ken

I figure we have all learned a bunch from this site. And we will learn even more.

John... I bet 50 percent of the people using scotchloks don't even know that they come in different sizes for different gauge wires! Maybe its not the scotchloks, simply operator error!:D :D :D
