I Hate Ups!!!

Ok, so I have been watching the door for the UPS guy to bring me my turbos and when they show up, I am SHOCKED to find the boxes looking like THIS!!! :--) :{



And yes, one of the turbos is damaged!

The box is marked FRAGILE and everything!

I AM SOOOOOO MAD!!!

Perhaps it's just me, but, I think the FRAGILE did you in. It seems as if that's the code for " DROP THIS OFF THE DOCK AND USE IT FOR A WHEEL CHOCK". I recently bought a metal Fosters Lager sign for my bar. The shipper marked it "DO NOT BEND". Of course it looked as though the delivery company driver had to carry it in his wallet Although now instead of being flat and boring, it's kind of 3-D :-laf . Mine was a minimal expense, so while I wasn't happy it wasn't the end of the world.

that is a crap packaging job by far. Ron A, posted a similar picture a few weeks ago.



did that package originate in the midwest?



I ship several package a month and it does take some time to do it right.



I hope the package was fully insured

I don't know the insurance status as of yet but I emailed the shipper to find out.

seems like it might be a good idea to have anything shipped inside a wooden crate...



makes me scared to see how i'd get stuff coming to me [although, my exhaust came in great shape, shipped by DHL]

Bubble wrap doesn't really cut it for heavy objects, it's better for lighter stuff. When you have a lot of dead weight it needs more rigid & dense material than thin plastic bubbles, such as more layers of cardboard. Double boxing would be a good idea.



UPS is known for being the most abusive with freight of all the major carriers.

I worked for UPS for a short while in College... . needless to say, I look at a job with some sort of ethics... but some of the others I worked with...



Needless to say, that thing looks like it was crappily packed but it also looks like it took a vacation from the conveyer belt.

The turbos were mine, I sold them. I did not pack them though. Even though the buyer did not request insurance, I chose to go ahead and insure them. Getting something back from UPS is a chore to say the least. I am still fighting them over a fishing vest from a year ago. Very sorry for poor packing job Sebastian.

The turbos were mine, I sold them. I did not pack them though.

It wasn't by chance a UPS store or something like that was it? I bet that would help my cause a lot.

that's not a box sold by UPS.

using photo software and enlarging the pic the box says lawn & garden.

also looks like the ups label is on top of the tape which would mean the tape job was done before the label was put on.

then again,,i don't think ups would have accepted a box looking like that.

let us know if ups pays the claim.

i'd say the packager is to blame ( just my opinion)

at work when we get stuff that is shipped, lots of the time it is that expanding spray foam that is the packing materal. . a plastic bag full of it, then the item placed on top of it, and another bag full of it goes on top and the box/crate is sealed... when the foam sets up, it is a very sturdy packing...
