I am looking for some serious advice and or reccomendations! I finally got my truck to where I want it, but due to my health it has been recomended by my Doctor's (Heart & Back) that I no longer drive it. Four collapsed disc's and my ticker they say may not make it through surgery. My truck has 42,000 actual miles on the clock. Read my sig and in the very informed opinion what do yall think it's worth?TIA 6naline01

Nice looking bed, did you make it? Unfortunately, I have found from past experience that you never get out what you put in, unless you find someone that is looking for exactly what you have and is willing to pay for it.

Sorry to hear about your problems. Take care.

sorry to hear about your health, I agree that it's very hard to get any value our of add on's (personal experience) I've had every year of a cummins through 04' and went back to an 01', based on my ownership experiences and being a banker for 27 years I'd say if you can get "top NADA retail" you'd have a good sale, good luck and let me know if you price your truck!

That's a great looking truck and a very nice job you did on the bed. I think you should hang on to your truck, your going to be okay and surprise the doctors. I wish you well.

I hoped that this day

yea I built the bed, local mnuf. wanted $12,500. I have $2,200. 00 for metal and brake work. $300. 00 for renting forklift sold the old bed for 900. 00. I have decided screwem I am not selling it Thanks for the well wishes I apreciate it! 6naline01

Good for you. That's the spirit!

Have they told you to not drive it due to a rough ride? If so, I would look into a air-ride seat for the drivers seat, like the kind you see in big rigs. The problem I have found though is that I cant find one with a seatbelt integrated, but then again, I may be not looking in the right places. I want air ride seats for my rig, but cant afford them yet.

Maybe run lower tire pressure and sacrifice a little mileage? Chevy does have some nice seats and I know some have integrated seatbelts. Hope all turns out well.

Best wishes on your surgery. I'am recovering right now had surgery 01/28/08 fused L4-S1. Just allowed to start driving again. Worst part about surgery is I have a brand new turbo and 150hp stixs waiting to go in,and I cant work on it. Well i hope everything goes well for you, I'll say a prayer for you , hold on to the truck wait and see what happens.

aircop,

How did that surgery work out for you? Having been Airborne (29 jumps, 28 successful), my L4, L5, S1 are screwed. I get the nerves on both sides of my spine burned off each year, to kill the pain. If I get them fused, I'm afraid I'll lose mobility, and I still have 3. 5 years left till retirement from the Army.

... . i agree,i would keep the truck... . best wishes should you decide to have surgery,i recently had c5-c7 fused with a post added on either side of the spine, secured by 6 screws and retainer caps... recovery is a PITA... . the approach was from the back of the neck which makes for a long recovery... . very sorry to hear about your situation... . take care... tom;)

Let me just say that is one fine lookn truck, love the bed. Just between you and me if you listen to everything the doctors tell you they would want you in a wheel chair. Just take care of yourself and don't give up. There has to be another way to ease the suspension. Good Grief the over the road trucks have air ride why can't a pickup? Take care I wish you the very best, hang in there it'll get better. Just remember you can always sell your truck later,( hope it never comes ) but once you sell it, its gone.
