Thanks, THerman...

Last question... will I feel any difference with a turnbuckle? Or is there not a big difference in feel from 20 psi to around 28 psi? Thanks again...

From what I've read here, most don't notice a difference with the turnbuckle... .

but do notice a drop in egt.

Hope all this helps... .

I used a little different trick on mine. I took a hose clamp like you would see on a drier hose and put it around the actuating arm and the waste gate to keep the wastegate closed. I see 32 PSI of boost with my EZ and the wastegate tied closed. I put on my EZ about six months ago I did not see a huge increase in power from a dead stop but hold on to your britches over about 1200 RPM

ez getting tired??

I put the EZ on my 01 and at first,WOW, lots o power and that gooood feeling. But now, alas, I'm afraid my EZ is getting tired. Will I need to add injectors and a bigger exhaust and MORE turbo to help the poor thing along???

Used EZ

Edge will stand behind their EZ for 2 years reguardless if you are the origional owner. For a 2001 that should give you one more year of warnity.

As far as the transmission. you can waste the transmission with a stock engine. Especialy if you tow. My buddy had problems with his 99 at 60k miles on a stock truck. It's all in how you drive it. There are lots of post out there to learn from.

I think the power from the EZ is amazing. I have no regrets in getting one.

I hope this was tongue in cheek... . if not... unplug it and see the difference...

You get used to the extra power real quick don't you!

Same for me... . TIME FOR MORE!!

turnbuckle

We put an ez on my fathers truck and with the auto it was a great difference, but about 10K miles later I put on a turnbuckle for the waste gate and it just seemed to smooth out the power !! Great on those on ramps!!!;) ;)

The turnbuckle is great and easy to do only took me five or ten min. and it brings the truck right up to 30lbs of boost which really seems to shine on the interstate!! not necassarilly a seat of the pants feel but I would deffinatelly recomend it!!!

EZ Tired?

Hemiville- Is your EZ getting tired or are you getting tired of 'just' the EZ? You're spoilt now, aren't you?

I wouldn't bother seeing the doctor if I was you, what ails you can't be cured by no M. D. !! :) :)

I have the Comp box and have to turn mine off from time to time to bring me back to reality. However, I noticed that when I do turn the thing off, the truck seems *more* underpowered than it does when I uninstall the thing completely. Does this have to do with the different boost elbow fitting? When comparing the two, I noticed the one that shipped with the box has more restriction in it, so maybe the engine is being overboosted for the amount of fuel it's getting with the non-stock elbow in place? I dunno, maybe it's just me.

The truck is at the dealership right now and I'm suffering withdrawals while being stuck in a STRATUS loaner car, so pardon the rambling...

I've never seen this addressed here, but I was wondering it myself.

If you remove the box, and have the elbow installed... you will still make more boost, but you won't have the box to adjust the MAP sensor output to the computer... and you should get an overboost code... . I would think that this would result in the ecm defueling your engine to try to lower the boost..... which you would notice as lost power.....

Can anyone out there confirm this or set me straight?

From what I've heard.....

You have to remove/change back to the stock boost elbow when the EZ is removed or you will have an overboost code that can be read by the Stealer. I believe that is what I recall being said on this here board... ... ... ..... zman
