I just drilled a huge 4. 5 inch hole in my 34,000$ truck. I was so excited about the Psychotty Air unit and all of the great reviews it had so I got one and put it in.
Started up the truck... not too bad.
Backed out of the drive way... not too bad.
Stepped on the pedal... and thought the drill bit went all the way through to the glovebox !!
Took it for a test drive... LOUD RUSHING NOISE ALL THE TIME IN THE CAB WHENEVER YOU ARE ON THE THROTTLE AND THE BOOST COMES UP.
Ok so I take it out on the highway empty( no trailer). LOUD RUSHING NOISE AT ALL CRUISE SPEEDS!!
After many repeated test runs I did not notice any reduction of egt. I still got to 1250* with the edge set to level 1 in the exact same manner and speed that I always have .
TOTAL BUMMER!!!!!!!!!
Ok, enough whining. How do you guys with the Psychotty take it ??
More importantly has anyone figured out how to quiet the thing down to an acceptable level?
I thought of lining the air chamber(in the truck) with 1/4 inch rubber mat or something but I dont know if that will help or if its all the wind rushing past the black plastic screen near the base of the windshield that I am hearing.
PLEASE HELP!!!!
If I cant quiet this thing down I am going to send it back or sell it .
Anybody out there with the same results on the egt?? I mean if I cooled off 150-200 degrees it MIGHT be worth it.
Sorry Scott for slamming. I think your product is good for some people I just can't get over the noise and I did not see any egt reduction like I expected(that is why I bought it)
Please let my know if you think I am full of it, or can you help in any way.
