Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) I just got these codes 1693 and 0602

What does this mean, truck has been running sluggish all week.

P1693 (M) DTC Detected in Companion Module A fault has been generated in the companion engine.

Ok which part is busted that I need to change? If its the vp-44 bye bye Ram.

It is most likely not the VP. Have you recently installed a downloader? eg. smarty, superchips etc. . ? I have thrown that code myself, and the problem was created because I changed the programing with my smarty and thus changed the fueling calibration, it is not a big deal usually. I cleared mine and haven't thrown it since. So something has changed the calibration.

They are not serious codes my truck throws them all the time just becuase the extra fuel. Clear them and drive it. But you said your truck has been acting sluggish mine never has it runs the same.

Yes I have had the super chips since fall in it. I guess its the cold and the ULSD diesel that has been making it act weird I guess.

I find a no timing program responds better in cold weather with my smarty. I also get those codes all the time!
