ok ok i know i am not supposed to post this here but i just wanna show u the powerjoke ford has out. http://www.leftlanenews.com/wp-content/plugins/iimage-gallery.php?idpost=4129&idg=1&idi=29

there is the pic of the new 6. 4 litre engine. I already see some problems. The air to air has plastic tanks on it like the dodge had in 05 and i seen that in 06 dodge went back to the all aluminum air to air. Boy im glad im not a ford mechanic. LOOK AT THAT ENGINE BAY WHAT A JOKE... ... ... I WOULD RATHER WORK ON AN ISX CUMMINS STUCK UNDER THE HOOD OF A DODGE 3500 ANY DAY. HMM THAT WOULD BE COOL OPEN THE HOOD AND SEE A VERY LARGE ENGINE WITH A DOHC STAMP ON IT. US BOYS AND OUR DREAMS HAHAHAHA ANYWAY HOPE U LIKE FORDS GAYNESS.

ahhhhh dodge has the racing gauge display. GUESS WHAT DODGE HAS LESS THINGS TO GO WRONG INSIDE THE CAB THEN ANYONE ELSE... ... i used to be a FORD man had to many probs then went to a dodge and the inline diesel is the best. if its built like a semi buy it now dodge just needs to make the autoshift sycro trans like the semis have and the world would be a better place. just my two cents :D

The ipod plug

It's a cool feature to be able to plug in the ipod into the stereo system, you can sit there and jam to the tunes while you await the tow truck s arrival.

Also waiting for the tail gate heater to warm up. :-laf :-laf

Is there even an engine in there somewhere? I thought they had twins in there, I don't even see one. On the bright side, there doesn't seem to be any plastic covers. Or were they removed for pics?

I'm sure it runs good... . If you look closely, you can see the sequential (twin) turbo system manufactured by borg warner. It is a really cool system. I don't know what kind of power it puts out, but I am glad ford got away from that obnaxious VVT. Hopefully ther new truck does'nt sound like an air liner anymore!

Yes, they are out and some customers even have them.

Ford didn't get rid of the VVT, they kept one turbo as that and added a fixed blade turbo.

And I have heard BOMBing them is going to be hell! :-laf :D

Even the exhaust is going to be tough to get past with all the EPA regs and sensors built into if for emissions and EGR.

One guy from The Diesel Stop even had the ignorance to say the 6. 7 is as tough to work on as the 6. 4. HARDLY!!

I will not ever again offer to help someone pull the heads off a v-8 diesel. Its miserable to say the least. With that much plastic under the hood ,,,,,, I better stop !

They are! And it's 2007, haha. "I" have not seen any, but some members in the eastern states that belong to The Diesel Stop have one.

I read that same post.

A lot of people seem to think Ford "got it right" this time, and fixed all the problems from the 6. 0.

We'll see. I sincerely wish everyone who buys a 6. 4 the best of luck. I wouldn't wish automotive doom on anyone - it's a horrible feeling.

Given the fact that the cab must be pulled for most of the work on the 6. 4, I can't help but wonder if Ford actually designed the cab to be pulled easily. I'd like to think their engineers are smart enough to do so, but then I think most of the design choices automotive engineers make are questionable... at best. Maybe it's the bean counters.

I argued that the 6. 7, even with all it's EGR crap, is easier to work on and SEE than a 6. 4 is. It got deleted for not being on topic, haha.
