If Ford would sell Cummings, then perhaps the new owners could work on the engines and get a little more power out of them, or bore and stroke 'em and put a bigger Holley on, and... and... . Oo.

I was purchasing diesel fuel at a Speedway in Lexington, KY. last Saturday. Up pulled a FedEx truck... . I detected the clatter of a 24V Cummins, and I asked the driver what engine his delivery truck had. He said some have the Ford Diesels, but his truck had the special Dodge Vortec Diesel. I nodded my head, completed my pay-at-the-pump credit card transaction, and drove off... ... ... ..... :-laf :-laf :-laf

My F550 is rated at 19,500 lbs and has a box on it... it runs at 20 - 21 K lbs most of the time based on where it goes... we haul brake shoes and HD clutches for class 6, 7, and 8 trucks... .



The 04 that is close to 90K miles... . had the oil changed today, 88 and some change to be exact is 14 months old, and 85% of the time it pulls a dual axle trailer wtih duals, (8 tires on the road), each axle is rated to 12K lbs each so the trailer is close to that most of the time... . It has power disc brakes,,, the only short comming of the other trailers we have was electric brakes..... So the Cummins power is great and with the Power disc's on the trailer we can stop the thing... . As well as the exhaust brakes we sell... .



Lets see,,, I've had the hood up enough times to change the oil every 7,000 to 7,500 miles, and put washer fluid in the tank, 1 set of tires at about 68K miles, and I have the 513709-AA kit for the drive line mod per the TSB..... Dealer wanted money to do so were doing it in house... . Nothing has been done other than the above... .



It has a BD short shifter, and some stuff to make it more comfortable for the driver... 100 gal tank, etc etc..... We're going to check the brakes for the second time when it gets back from its next trip... .



It makes a monthly run to Vancouver BC, Edmonton Alberta, and San Diego. We deliver product and bring back cores for recycling so it loaded all the time...



I think that sums it up.....

anytime someone starts running their dumba. . mouth about Cummins being a turd of an engine, I just politely explain to them that the fastest diesel truck in the world is powered by a Cummins. Shuts them up pretty easily
