I actually do love that little cup looking thing that is the ash tray on my "SLT" The cup holders are so stiff that the little rubber holders were pushing up on my Diet pepsi cans and trying to shoot them out onto the floor!! :-laf Sooooooo, I just pulled out the ash tray, put it in the center console and filled it with quarters to use on the car wash and vaccuum. . :D and I have a perfect spot for my diet pepsi can! Oo. Smoking in or around any of my trucks is a big No no no no... .

I do the exact same thing with my ashtray. Quarters only!

Me too until I looked at the little smoking cigaret symbol on the darn thing!!! But then I realized I had a ciggaret lighter but no ashtray. Not that I really cared! :) :-laf

Does anyone know the part number for the ashtray lamp that comes with the Light Group? I searched all over dodgeparts.com and can't come up with anything. I have almost missed the cupholders at night it is so black down on my console.

I took the darn thing out and left it in the garage. Use the spot for my big drink. With a manual transmission, the cup holder behind the shifter is useless. One night the wife put a travel cup in it and I thought I had lost 2nd gear. :-laf

For as long as I can remember, I have been using the "ashtray" in my trucks for holding coins.

I do line the inside with single thickness cardboard or thick paper to keep coins from rattling against the plastic.

BTW, I agree about the cupholder behind the manual trans shifter being just about useless. Didn't the engineers at DC see this when they laid out the center console?

I had been using mine for card storage-- Extra credit cards, punch cards, etc. One day it refused to open (while I was driving) so I gave it a yank and the whole thing came out. I left in on the passenger floor and it probably got stepped on, because now it's in pieces. Sort of an ugly hole without it.

Maybe I'll make a junkyard run sometime. (winter is good because I hate yellowjackets)
