Proper wat to clean battery terminals?

Chevy w/Cummins

I drove down to Fife today to fill up my tank (at $1. 239/gal!) and while it was filling up I went inside to check the place out.

This is like Disney Land for a Diesel owner! I couldn't believe all of the stuff they sell in that place and now if I decide to switch to Rotella I know where I can get some for my next oil change.

Very cool! :D

Purely out of curiosity, how much are they charging for Rotella? Sams used to sell it for less than $5/gal, ($28. xx case) but since Oil Embargo II have increased the price to $33. xx for a case of 6 gal.

If I knew of another 4 pals who would like to go in together to get a 55gal. bbl. it would cut the cost drastically. :D Only caveat, I get to keep the barrel. ;)

Flying J

The only problem i have with Flying J is the $. 02 premium they charge for credit card or check card sales. I tavel so much, I don't like to carry enough cash for fuel every 1400 miles. Other than that, I've never had a problem with quality, and usually use the big rig pumps for speed of filling. Other good stops are Williams and Pilot. No up charge either!

Denny:D :D :D :D

I've been using my Discover card at Flying J in Aurora CO, and have not been charged the credit card fee. I'v also read on hte forum that they don't charge to use American Express.

I think the Rotella and the Delo were $8. 99/gal, but it's the first place I've seen Rotella.

Saw a lot of nice rigs down there yesterday too!

I'm with Klenger on this one. I've been using Discover and the Flying J in Waco, TX and have been getting the cash price. Also, I've got their Frequent Fueler card which is good for additional off the price. After all, every bit helps...

I think I'll just keep going back to Sam's Club when I need Rotella. I think you can still get a 55 gallon drum for a shade over 2 bills (<$4/gal).

Next time you're in the Flying J, pick a brochure for their RV club card (not exactly sure what it's called, RV-something, like "Rewards Card", etc. ). You can use your credit card and get the same-as-cash price. You can also get a discount on propane. I like the convenience of using my credit card right at the pump. After I slide my Discover card through, it prompts me to slide my "Rewards Card" through. I just did it today, and I verified that the price I paid with my credit card was $1. 239. Anyway, I give Flying J a BIG thumbs up! :)

(Too bad there's not a Flying J up near Everett. Best price I found up this way is $1. 359 at the Texaco at exit 208 on I-5 west of Arlington)

I use a Visa card along with my RV Real Value Card and never been charged an up charge for using a credit card at Flying Js all over the western US. Just wish we had a local Flying J--nearest one is Waco, TX.

There is a new Williams Express at Alliance Airport that just opened up so I have been using them. Also pay at the pump with the Visa card--same as cash. Still clean around the diesel pumps too--guess the Ford guys haven't found it yet! :D

$1. 464 at CFN on my last bill in Bend. Sure wished Flying J would open up shop here, they did show one in the planning stages for here on the FJ web site, but now no plans are indicated

The price is still $1. 189 at Flying J in Troutdale OR. Thats 30 plus cents a gallon cheaper than other places in Portland. I use my ATM card and get the posted price - no mark-up.

I did 12,000 miles in the last four weeks. $1. 19 was the lowest I saw, $1. 52 the highest. With price swings like that an aux. tank will pay for itself pretty quick. Flying J or Pilot seems to be best fuel. FJ usually understaffed though. Hit a Love's or TA once in awhile. NEVER buy anything at a truck stop that you can find elsewhere, you'll allways pay for the convenience.

rewards card has "steps"

the fuel discount (0. 01/gal) is up thru 1st $100 spent during a calendar month. after $100. 00 the discount increases slightly, and again at 200, and so on.

the whole $100 doesn't have to be fuel, either... for transactions inside, like beef jerky or trucker-food at the "cookery" restaurant (I like it, even though my wife and kids go  when I say, "let's eat at Flying J") As if Pilot or any other truck stop has better food! Have them slide your card at the transaction, and those $ will bring your next level of fuel discount just that much closer. (those items don't get discounted, BTW, but it records the expenditure to increase your fuel advantage) --- won't amount to more than a few $/month, but it's still nice :)

In the Portland OR area all the other prices

for diesel appear to be about $1. 53 a gallon

as of yesterday when the boys and I drove

out to Multonomah Falls and Bonneville Dam.

The Troutdale Flying J was $1. 18! I need to

put an auxillary tank on the CTD.

Seen in the last week:

Flying J Ft Pierce, FL (East coast) $1. 38/gal

Pilot Ft Myers, FL (West coast) $1. 69/gal

Exxon Ft Myers, FL (West coast) $1. 45/gal

Exxon two miles away from Pilot.

 I just drove by the Troutdale Flying J last Sunday and didn't stop, assuming the prices were somewhat close to the $1. 50 range I was seeing in Beaverton and Tigard  . I featherfooted it all the way home so I could fill up for $1. 37  My local Flying J sucks because they're always the most expensive in town.

Steve C. , are you the one who found my note on your truck in the Winco Foods parking lot?? That was too weird, talk about a small world. I was cruising down Cedar Hills Ave in Beaverton last Saturday when I spotted one of the trucks that had been at Timberline the previous weekend. Sharp looking black 4x4 QC 2500. I waited around awhile for the owner to return but he was loading up on a month's supply of groceries  LOL
