Just filled up tonight... got a milage best: 556miles/ 24. 4 gal... = 22. 78mpg!!! This was predominately highway @ 70 with some stoplight miles. I have usually gotten around 21 with a #12 plate... I wonder if the #8 has anything to do with the increase... either way, not too shabby for a 7300lbs 4x4 truck!!
 
My truck is pretty much like yours and I have got 22 several times on the hwy. I just put in a number 8 plate and haven't had a chance to check mileage with it. ---Michael Az
 
I wonder if the mileage is actually better than that. :) The 235x85's have a larger diameter than the 245's, by a factor of 1. 044, so you may have gone 556 x 1. 044 miles. :eek:



Is it 23. 78mpg instead?
 
Holy-schmoly! I hadnt thought of that, Forrest!!! Hmm... guess Ive been speeding all this time!:p It just keeps getting better, doesnt it? Ive got some 370's in the box (waiting for me to find a diesel mechanic thats capable/willing to advance my timing), and I hope they help mileage as well. Thanks Forrest!

I've only seen 500 once. Best i can get is about 465 back and forth to work. Between 15-17 mpg. 14 miles one way 4 red lights.

Hummin, is your truck stock? I had a 95 that I bought new, and its mileage was poor as well... until I started turning it up. Mildly bombed, I once got 25. 5mpg with that truck (2wd, 5sp. 3:54, CC).

As I add power, the economy keeps improving! Dont-cha love it? As we all know, the fuel guages arent reliable... so I drive on the numbers: 35gallons (30 useable), X 20mpg average = 600 miles. I start thinking about fuel at between 500-550... and have gone over 620miles! I advise that you do some bombing...
