I maybe dumb but....(high idle/cabin heater)

Ok. I maybe dumb or just not understanding something but I have a couple of problems I am hoping you folks can help me with.



1. High Idle: Either I am not understanding how to turn this on or the "wonderful" service folks did not activate this feature but when I follow the instructions posted here I can not get my truck to go into high idle with the temps in the low 30's. My paperwork for the service dept. says they activated the feature and I have tried starting the truck, turning on cruise control, holding the set button down for more then 1 second; and turning the truck on, holding the set button down for more then 1 second. Nothing happens. the Truck idles at 700RPM. Am I missing something here?



2. Cabin heater installed but not working correctly. It sounds like it is running, but no heat coming out of the vents. Yes the cabin heater vents are open and the fan control is at maximum but still no heat. Any ideas on where to start troubleshooting? The instructions the service guys gave me are just operating instructions and not troubleshooting instruction.

I had it programed after I received my truck and your process seems to be correct, but I believe your forgetting to use the accel button to raise the RPM and deccel to lower the RPM. The RPM,s should raise slightly when you turn on C/C and then touch the set button (I don't have to hold the set button for 1 sec), when you activate it, then raise the RPM's with the accel (faster). If that don't work take it in and have them show you how.

I thought I was doing it correctly. I even pressed the accel and nothing happened so I am figuring this is a case where the service techs said they did when in fact they did not. Unfortunitly this will have to wait until I can get the truck in as I live 300 miles from the nearest Dodge dealership (that includes a 12 hours ferry ride).
