Can anyone run me a vehicle history check?

Happy Birthday ob1kobi

I spent the whole afternoon yesterday cleaning our guest room/office that has the computer in it. We dust in there about every other week but the areas behind the computer, under the desk, etc. were thick with dust because we don't normally get behind them. This concerns me because dust is really hard on the electrical components. I have a standard air filter in the furnace but with two boys, two dogs, and a dusty climate it's tough to keep 2000 square feet dust free. I have heard about some of the electrostatic air cleaners but I need some advice on the subject.

We also had a dusty house, but went at the problem from a different angle. When our old vacuum cleaner died, we bought one of the new Dyson models to replace it (www.dyson.com).

Although it was expensive compared to other vacuums @ $399, the yellow Dyson is by far the best vacuum we've ever owned. It is bagless, and the filter is washable, so there is nothing more to buy once you get it home. There was a lot of thought and testing given to the design of this vacuum, and it shows in the performance.

It is simply amazing the amount of dust and dirt this vacuum will collect every time you use it. You really don't realize how much dirt gets in a house until you see the Dyson to get rid of it. Our house is now so much cleaner than before, and our furnace filter is lasting longer due to less dust in the air. The house even smells clean after using the Dyson.

Go test drive one at Best Buy or Sears. You won't be disappointed.

If you're on a crawl space, make sure your return air is sealed. I've seen hundreds of houses that are missing pieces of panning or headers in the crawler.

Otherwise, don't waste your money on an electrostatic filter. I would say to get a regular electronic air cleaner, but with dogs in the house it's hard to keep them clean enough to work right. You might consider a 4" media filter, and running your fan continuosly.
