Anybody have a 2nd gen and 3rd Gen? Fuel filter Question

Installed the r49 in my truck last night. Today, I'm trying to get it dialed in but, just can't get it.

Anything above 1 on the power level makes the truck start spitting and sputtering really bad. It doesn't matter if it's on Econo, Stand, or the twins

I have the RP turn off. Even with it on it didn't help. Adjusting the TE doesn't make any difference. Timing is on auto.

I am new to this but, I've read more about this subject that I care to admit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You should get your signature filled out and added to your posts. Normal trouble shooting, check all of the connectors and connections. Make sure you did not switch crank shaft and cam shaft connectors, it can be done. As stated above check air and fuel filters. Do you have any other gauges??

if you cross the crank and cam plugs , you will lose the rpms,on the tach, though wouldn't you?

Mine did the same thing. Ended up being a wire for my Viper 560XV remote start.

I cut the wire and it worked fine. The fix was explained in the TST instruction manual or somewhere on TST's website.

Not sure all of the things it would cause, but the connectors are the same and if you try you can connect them backwards. I know from personal experience  .

thanks for the responses guys. The problem turned out to be..... I had the rail pressure sensor connected when it shouldn't have been.

It says this on TST's site but, I thought with their newer box's it could be used. Guess they haven't figured the RP part yet.

So, after connecting the TST RP wires together it's works great but... ... ...

The problem now is a crap lot of codes I'm getting. P0336, P0341 & one other.

The check engine light won't go out and I'll check for codes and there's none. 5 minutes later, I'll check the codes and get what's listed above. The truck runs good but, that damn engine light needs to go away.

I know these 2 codes are the cam & crank sensors. I've verified I have the correct wiring connected at the right place but, still have codes.

Any ideas ? !!

same codes here as i stated in the p0341 forum last night my trucked poped spit and spuddered i was on 6/6 and 2rp i stopped at a light turned my chip on 0/0/0 and my rpm were bouncing like crazy all the way down to about 100rpm i thought it died the smoke was everywhere i was pressing the accelerator and the engine wasnt reving at all i put it in first and she took off i pulled over killed it found p0341 code checked wires and connectors all good started back up and ran fine Thanks for any help that can be offered

The light will not go out if the PCM is reading them as current. If the PCM does the test on that system twice then the light will go out by itself. It does not test each system every start hence up to 9 start cycles and a start cycle is considered starting the truck cold, warming it to operating temp and then letting it cool down. that is 1 start cycle. If the pcm is testing the system and it is seeing a failure then the light will not go out until that failure is fixed.

Thanks Chris. I'm sorry about not getting back to your email. It's been pretty busy! Thank you very much for the info you sent and this info. The light finally went out. I suppose I reached that 9 starts. Hopefully now, it won't come back.

no problem, have you decided to stack the truck? I am really thinking of it but want an aux tank back there and there is not much room as it is. Not like I am going to pull a 5th wheel or GN with it being so dang tall. I ordered the ATS intake yesterday. Merry christmas to me!! LOL! Also buying water/meth kit.

I just installed mine and no problems. The R/P connector can be plugged in backward and cause havoc. Re-Read you installation instructions. Look at page 4. Make sure you have the correct orientation on the plug. The square notch is on the bottom and the curved notch is on top so it can properly lock the tab. I would be willing to bet this was your problem. My truck is an 06 and my TST box is above 5000. Everything works perfect.

This box really works well.
