I’m sitting in my truck parked on the left side of the road, passenger’s side nearest the street, waiting for an inspector to show up at a jobsite. The street is narrow and there is another pickup on the opposite side of the road. While waiting I was reviewing some schedules and not paying much attention to what was happening outside when all of the sudden WHAM!
A silver Mercedes and a Jeep Cherokee tried to pass each other right between my truck and the other. Apparently the gal driving the Cherokee left herself plenty of room between her car and the other truck. The Mercedes got pinched and moved a little too far to the right to avoid the Cherokee sideswiping the right rear of my truck. I now have a nice crease from the Mercedes mirror just above the body molding starting from the wheel well and ending at the tail light, which was torn loose. :{
Now ten years ago this would have been a big deal but hey my truck needs the hood and roof repainted and a few other small dings taken care of and that tail light was chipped anyway so no big deal. Things happen.
Well the Mercedes got the worst of it. My bumper (undamaged except for some extra silver paint left on it :-laf ) left a crease along the entire passenger’s side of the Benz as well as the mirror being torn off when it took my taillight off. As it turned out the driver of the Mercedes is only 15.
He has his first driving lesson with a private instructor tomorrow so dad thought they should get some wheel time before his lesson so he wouldn’t be too nervous.
They got all of one block from home before having his first accident. :{ :-laf :-laf
