I need a Sign..........Hiss is normal

I own a 03 with a Jake Exhaust brake which is armed 100% of the time. A day does not pass that when pulling into some stop a person comes over and tells me I have a serious vacuum leak or a tire leaking. I need a Sign on the Ram... ..... Hiss is Normal.



About a month ago, I stopped at a US Border Patrol Checkpoint on I-87 in northern NY. Before the Border Patrol Officer asked where I was born or any other typical questions, he looks me in the straight in the eyes (Jake Hissing) and says " Do You Hear That" ? I gave him the same straight look and said " Do you hear voices also". He got that deer in the headlight look and said your ok ..... move out ha ha ha

that's funny. My pac is pretty quiet, but my buddies brake hisses big time. We were at the fuel & gas finals in Bakersfield, and a group of guys stood around my friend's truck asking what all he had done to it. I said TURBO, REALLY BIG TURBO. Jeez.

I have a jacobs & it doesn't hiss as loud as my brothers pac brake. I think the difference is that I have a 4" jake & he has the stock 3 1/2.

Several people around town have said they really like my truck, and how did I put those air brakes on the rear.

What do you mean armed all the time? I can only assume you have it permanetly on unless you have your foot on the GO pedel via the computer. but you have a manual so do you also have a clutch switch? really lost in your post.

I never turn the Jake switch off. With my 03/6speed, when my foot goes off the go pedal, in 2 seconds the Jake comes on. Step on the go pedal and it turns off. I save my service brakes bu leaving the Jake armed all the time.

The jake is just louder than the pac. I have a pac with a 5" turbo back, and my buddies truck has the jake with a 4". His is still louder.
