shifter

the 93 shifter handle and stub will fit any and all years of the g360

but you must use both the 93 stub and shifter handle together.

Thank you for the info mysteryman. I am new to all this stuff. Bob Beauchaine is helping me out with the components I need. -Thanks Bob.

mysteryman- Just so I better understand will the 1993 shifter work on the older model trucks ? My trans has a new or refurb top not sure if it is original or not. The truck is an 1989 model year. Thanks again

I think the main difference in the newer design is change in the fulcrum point. The older setup the fulcrum was right at the top of the transmission while the newer style moved it up about 8 to 10 inches. This allowed for easier and more positive shifting.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Don't forget about the shifter being angled more to the driver too vs being straight and some what away from the driver on the earlier ones! Bob, Were you able to use the same lever on your NV4500 or was that changed out? GW

You can't use the G360 shifter on the NV4500HD. With the the G360 the shifter and the trans top portion come apart and the removal fo the trans portion is a PITA. On The NV there are two types of shifter assemblies. The earlier model - the one I have - is easy to remove and install. I made a "tool" out of an old piece of iron pipe. You just need to push it down against the spring and turn it about 1/8 of a turn to engage two tabs and hold it in place. The newer is even easier it bolts right on to the top of the trans.

I don't have any pics of either the NV4500 or the G360 attaching points. On the G360 it's been almost 10 years since I #@$%!#@$%!#@$%! cussed that one off and then back on again. Thr NV4500 was pretty straight forword.
