I need a transmission!!!

I have a 96 Dodge 2500 diesel 4x4 putting approx. 475 hp 650 torque to the wheels. My factory 5 speed just isn't strong enough to take the punishment any longer (getting a god awful grinding noise). Can anyone recomend a good performance replacement. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Welcome to the TDR. First thing you need to do is to set up your profile so we can see all the details about your truck, then we can really help you.



As for your transmission problem, I think a 5 speed will hold a whole lot more than 475/650 with the correct clutch and such. Sounds like you need a rebuild and a southbend clutch.

You can definately build a NV4500 to hold way more than that, and it should hold that HP level with an input shaft upgrade! On the other hand i saw an NV5600 in the classifieds.
