I need advice!

I have searched and searched but cannot find a part number for the Rancho Steering stabilizer for my truck. I called a place and their books only go to '98!?



Anyway, here is what I am doing:



I ordered a set of Bilstein shocks that are going to replace the oem ones. I heard too many good things about them here and don't tow anything heavy enough for the Rancho 9000's.



I would also like to replace the steering stabilizer at the same time as the shocks IF I can find a part number. I was quoted $41. 90 for the stabilizer. Is that a decent price? Can someone tell me where I might get it for less?



I also am putting on a set of PIAA 9004 Extreme White bulbs to replace the oem headlight bulbs. I just can't see at night. Anyone have any experience with these bulbs? Pro's and Con's?



I did see that someone bought a hood blanket insulation thing (real technical term) and the rear wheelwell liners. How much do the rear wheel liners cost and can I get them somewhere else other than the stealer?

If you have the Dana 60 front diff it's probably the RS5404



The PIAAs are much brighter than stock and worth the $ imo...



The Bilsteins will make it ride like a different truck... (better )

The rear liners are about $33 a piece. The pop rivets are $2. 60 apiece. You will need 14 of them if you don't use the bolts holding the rear splash guards in place. I think they are dealer item only. Hope this helps. Jeff

mberry, consider rewiring your lights with some real wire. cheaper than PIAA's and may be all you need to get good light. DC used 18 and 20 ga wire. should be at least 14, preferrably 12 ga. i rewired mine with relays, 12 ga wire to the lights, and 10 ga ground. with Wagner Bright Light bulbs ($10 ea). man what a difference!!

How far did you replace the wire? All the way to the headlight switch or just to the relay or both? Thanks, bg

PIAA....

No intention of nitpicking, but I've found that PIAA and other companies come up with all of these "trick" names for their products, and sometimes they all seem to run together, as the "new and improved" model comes out.



So..... I've just installed PIAA 9004 Extreme Superwhite . I was told this is a newly released bulb. They are much better than stock. I had an older version of 9004 in my 97 Dakota, and they were a rip off, so I insisted on a money back guarantee if I didn't like them.



I have Bilsteins and a Rancho 5000?? steering stabilizer. Les Schwab sold and installed the Rancho..... I don't think it's a particularly rare model.

You can get the plastic pop rivets at an auto parts store. Got mine at Pep Boys. I took my rear liners out. Too bad you don't live close, I'd give them to you.

light rewire

bg, no i used the current wire to the left headlight (switched ground on the 2000-present) to "trigger" relays. took the power from the batt+ in the PDC, to feed relays. then went to the lights with 12v+, and grounded back to batt- with 10 ga wire. much safer and better. decreases the load on the headlight switch, since it now only has to switch the relays. while i was at it, i rewired the fogs independent of either the highs or lows so i can have them on any time the switch is on. all

I am electrically illiterate so rewiring the lights is not an option for me without come really good schematics and instructions. Do you have any redneckdr?
