proper operation of turboed aircraft engine

You ever get really bored and read bottles of stuff?

I'm not trying to flame anyone here, but when you buy something with no warranty and both parties agree to it, why would you even consider asking for all/some of your money back? That's what would happen if there was a warranty. If you didn't get what you were expecting, you essentially agreed that that would be O. K. with you. Even with the engine in non running condition, the parts alone are worth what you paid for them even if some work has to be done. Hope you get it worked out.

True , you get what u pay for it was a good deal 1000$ for the short block and i told others what i found and they laugh and said yea i bet its good but i took the gamble and rolled and what is it snake eyes :) anyways if chris wants to talk he has my # or he can PM me Im done chatting

Rodney, first and foremost when I started this thread I never even mentioned a name and even said you werent a TDR member to protect your identity. I only knew you read the forums and would possibly get to see the responces from all the knowledgable folks here on TDR and take it to heart after the way you talked to me on the phone. I am a business man and I WONT and will never allow ANY customer to talk to me the way you did. It's one thing to call and discuss things but to call me everything but a white man will only get a hang up call on my end.

Now, When you looked over the motor I told you that the oil pan was sold off it and I put the damaged one back on to protect the crank and in the same breath I told you as well that I would AT THE VERY LEAST put a set of bearings in it because of the hole in the pan. I sold you that complete engine assembly for a fraction of what engines complete drop in and go normally bring because of the situation with it being disassembled and the hole in the pan. You seen my shop and should have taken to heart the fact the engine sat in a dirty dusty building unsealed where any elements could have inhabited it in the month or so it sat here since I pulled it from the truck and you as well just wrapped it in a tarp on an open flatbed truck and drove home 13 hours during the winter when there is all kinds of salt and sand on the roads that Im sure found their way into the engine then. I would suggest you list the engine on Ebay now that you have it all redone because just a few weeks ago I watched a cracked 53 block engine bring nearly what you payed me for that good non 53 engine and it was even a misspelled ad calling it a Cummings. In fact if you list it I will more than likely bid on it. I'm sorry you feel taken advantage of on our deal but for me to give you 600 of your money back would only leave me 600 in my pocket and I could have cored out the head for that amount and still had a good non 53 block around as a spare. I don't want anyone here getting the wrong idea of you either. I think you are a nice guy and your dad as well but you need to control your temper just a bit when you get mad about things. I really enjoyed meeting you both and taking some time to visit about all the things we did. Just take a moment now and look at things from my point of view and you will understand.

God Bless, CSnyder

Chris, you are worrying about it because you are an honest person. The other guy is trying to scam you because he apparently is a dishonest person. What he bought was worth the money. Who knows what he or his mechanic did to it after he got it.
