Which gauges do you recommend? I was considering TST or ISSPRO. I want all three due to auto transmission. ISSPRO is coming out with enhanced visibility gauges and look good! Is their digital pryrometer any good? I live near Portland, Oregon where ISSPRO gauges are made and it is cheaper to order from DIS in Texas than buying here where it is made. I don't get it! B. T. W. , TST plates are cheaper from DIS in Texas then from Mark at TST. Thanks for any advice!Herb

I got my ISSPRO gauges from Scheid Diesel in Effingham and I love them, havn't had any trouble with them. The only thing that I wish would be different would be better consistancy in light between them. I've been very happy with the overall quality of the gauges though.

I cleared 100K mi while the board was down. Jardine Performance 4" exhaust (sounds just like a Pete, it's great) :) Schied Diesel put timing to *15 (by timing light), put gauges in on the A pillar (trans temp, boost, and egt) They also set my stock plate up (40 hp 150 ft/lb gain) OH, what a difference a day makes :-D

I have the Isspro boost (50 psi) and pyrometer. I'm happy with the gauges them selves, but I got to say the lighting really sucks!!
I hooked mine into the dimmer circuit in my truck. I can just barely make out the pyro at night (more like I can tell if it's in a "safe" area, than the exact temp) and cannot see the boost gauge at all at night. I am not one who drives with my dash board lights on at full blast, I find this distracting, but the way I have the dash, I cant see the gauges.
I've e mailed them asking about different light bulbs about 2 weeks ago. No reply as of yet. I hope I get this resolved, I really like the gauges and I do a major portion of my driving at night. If they ever reply to my mail, I'll post the bulb #'s.

Herb:

Like "Kunze" I also have the "Isspro"
Gauges which came from "Scheid Diesel. "
I am very happy with them too.

If you go back into the "Products and
Accessories" archives around 3-17-01
there is a thread titled "Gauge Pictures
Anyone?" This entry will give you an idea
of what the gauges look like in the trucks.
My gauges are pictured in that thread also.

I have three Isspro's on my A piller. Top one is the black face boost which is poorly lit. Next is the black face EGT which is fair. On the bottom I have the EGT in the colored version which is better. I have not bothered to try different bulbs though. Still, I would not want them any briter than they are due to reflections. I have had no problems with the guages themselves and prefer the simplicity of analog vs digital. Just my choice.

I have the AutoMeter gauges, and I am very pleased with them. From what I have seen and read, most of the gauges are of high quality and are dependable. It pretty much comes down to what you like and think looks good in your truck, mounted the way you like. Check out the thread on gauges that was listed, it helped me decide how I was going to mount mine. There are some nice options in there.

Thanks Guys for the info. The D. I. S. site has all the gauges and listings with movies and stills of them. I got in the mail today a catalog from ISSPRO with all the spec on their new "enhanced Visibility gauges" and will order them asap. The face of the gauge is lighted thru itself which looks like the way to go instead of around the sides! I drive mainly during the day, but I want to be able to read them at a glance whenever. The new "EV" gauges aren't available as yet for about a month, But I'll wait for them! No more wondering if the turbo is cool enough yet to shut down. Check out the Diesel Injection Service Co. site for more info. Thanks again! Herb
