Another reason I don't eat at McDonald's

After many months, and hundreds of hours, I am ready to open our new phone system up to the Internet. This is a new business venture for me that I started with a friend of mine.

Most of you have heard of free phone service over the Internet. Our systen is similar, with the one exception that it works, and the voice quality is every bit as good as you get with your home phone (or better). With our system you also have a dedicated 4 digit phone number that allows anyone with a phone to call you regardless of your location in the world. All you need is Internet access, and your computer on line to the internet.

If you are interested in trying this out, go to my website and fill out the form for a free trial. I will provide the software free of charge, and you can use the service with no strings attached for 30 days. After 30 days the accounts will be deleted. My business partner and I have been using the system for months, and it works great! I hope it works as well for you as it has for us. Dial up users are also welcome to try this out since it works just as good over dialup. Check it out, and let me know what you think. If you have any problems with the system, I want to know about every one!!! Here is the location of the website.

If you dont want to give your address, that is OK. All I need is your name, E-Mail address, and type of Internet access.

Thanks in advance

Just think... If Bill and Piers try this out, we could have local calling to Canada :)

I guess this could be seen as an advertisement, but that is not the intent. I need to get some people on line for bandwith utilization testing, and for testing all the other things that could go wrong with any new product. I wanted to make sure we got things working as good as possible before we started charging people for service.

The intent of this post is to ask the TDR members for assistance testing this. NOT selling this to them.

Will it work over an extremely slow dialup connection JC? I'm stuck at around 26400 up here 20 miles past where the cows go to die :D ..... If so I'll give 'er a rip for ya for R&D purposes.

Bandwidth utilization on a 26400 dialup line is around 85 to 90% on your end, so yes it works fine. As long as you dont try to surf the web and talk at the same time, you should'nt have any problems (with broadband users this isnt a problem). You just have to tell the software to use the low bandwidth codec. It might take a while to download the software client since is around 27Meg, but you only have to do that once.

FWIW, My business partner is forced to use dialup due to her location, so we know how the system works over dialup pretty good. Her connection speed is 26400 also, and we use this all the time. I might be installing a satelite system at her house in the near future since she really needs broadband!
