I have the stock Michelin LTX A/S tires on my truck. I have 34,000 on my truck. I would like to go at least a 285. What tires do I get? My current tires a JUNK#@$%! They are fine on dry ground and thats it. I pull a snowmobile trailer in the winter, and a 28' flat bed to haul my Jeep and quads. I got stuck on wet grass the other day and that was the last straw( pulling about 8,000#) I have looked at m/t and a/t's. I have played with air pressure with very mixed results. What holds up? What dosen't? I don't offroad the truck, but with wet or snow covered road this truck is a hazard. I am looking at Toyo a/t, m/t Goodyear silent armor, MTR BFG a/t, m/t Firestone destination a/t, m/t Nitto terra, dura, mud Thanks for your imput:D

Toyo 285/75 ATs here. They have been pretty good so far. As is expected with larger tires, more force on the brake pedal is needed to stop.

I like my BFG AT 315 70 17 on H2 rims spring/summer/fall, and 285 70 17 BFG AT on stock rims in the winter. They look great and are holding up well. Haven't had the truck long enough to run through a set. Great traction in the snow, plowed all winter and never got stuck. They are also very quiet.

I ran Toyo open Country A/T in 285/70/17 and had great luck with them. Great overall traction and way quieter on the highway than my present M/T tires. If you need better winter (ice)traction have the tires siped when you purchase them.

I have the 285/70/17 nitto terra grapplers and have performed wonderfully for the past 4,000 miles. These are good tires at a good price:D, check 'em out i think you'll like 'em

Also the Nitto Terra Grappler is E rated and is rated for 3750lbs. @ 80 psi (in 285/70/17 size) if that helps and the 285 size isn't going to make much of a difference on the speed. I found that it made mine dead on.
