This futures business is a racket! Has nothing to do with nothing! Think that big oil doesn't use them to their full advantage? Think again! We are being screwed and haven't even been kissed!

Seeing on TV an excerpt of one of Hitler's speeches captioned in English, he raged over the injustice of the Money Markets, Stock Exchanges etc. where people with no product, no industry, no manufacturing plants, were able to amass great profits without any investment or losses, being able to control the welfare of the whole country without regard, and he vowed to rid the country of them. The world is now well aware of what followed. Frankly if his speeches had been translated to the language of the people of industrialised Democratic Nations, and had been made available at the time (The Great Depression) many people living in Democratic Nations would have found great comfort in it. The buss word at the time was, "Vested Interests". Cartoon figure, Pot belly, evening dress, top hat, swagger cane, ball end capped with diamonds, gold tie pin studded with jewels, that's from the 30's, also used often during the War in Britain to denote War Profiteers.

Cartoon Figure, I forgot , also add, Diamond Rings on all fingers, Big Cigar, or a Diamond Studded Cigarette Holder-- about one foot long, everything over emphasized (still can't get enough)

DJW are you comparing me to Hitler?

Oh NO, Hitler, as of many kinds of governments and religions have sound ideas, (that's if one agrees to them) but often they leave the tracks. Armies praying for victory, both foes praying to the same God. Rudeness is one thing but Politically Correctness is an outright Lie. Sell the Flag and buy more Beer!

Still not sure what you are getting at, but I still stand by my statement that the futures market has nothing to do with the actual suppy and demand. It is at best based on speculation, and at worst is manipulated by certain groups.

In reality the Futures Market is nothing more than gambling with one exception, those doing the betting, are controlling what we have to pay though their fear of their loss or happiness in their gain ;) Either way the consumer pays the price for an inflated volital presumption that is created by those few who hold the wealth and who control or bet on future outcomes weather plausable or not.

Look at the price of Diesel today and how much it went up because of a storm that has not even hit anywhere yet, but has just showed up on the weather. Kind of interesting how fast the price can be driven up by an event that has not even happened yet and might not happen. So are we just betting or what

Food for thought ;)

Ya'll ever watch the price of diesel and interest rates?

There is not a direct relationship between the two, but both are quick to rise and slow to fall.

The "energy horse" left the barn about 30 years ago and "we" didn't even know it was gone until it was time to go for a ride. Now we all are gonna pay for it in the short run; say 5 to 10 years before more fuel efficient cars, alternative fuels and offshore drilling, etc. , will have any real effect on fuel prices.

It is all a matter of going and getting it. As long as legislature prevents drilling in Alaska and CA and Fl cry about not wanting to look at offshore rigs we are at the oil countries mercy. CA cries about electricity every year when it has to buy from out of state, but has not built a plant in over twenty years due to whining about the who, what and where's. Texas is going to be in the same place in a year or two. 5 years ago we were selling electricity next year we may be buying it. Major power providers are trying to build new plants, but the good old government is already crying foul at the ideas and locations being presented. Sooner or later we are going to have to stop cutting bait and fish.

It's a shame that the ave joe is the one that is effected by all this. One the Oil com. are all making bookoo bucks and complain that a pipeline needs fixed or a sea rig got effected by a storm. then fix it with your 400 million profit for 05. Two we have elected(prostitues) talking out the side of their mouth. "we need to help the people but don't explore new regions or build new plants to employ american workers and the whole time taking money from lobbyist.
