Thank you to those of you who helped me out on my post "i think my torque converter is stuck". Well 2 different shops told me the same thing. Torque converter is staying engauged or multiple gears are engauging at the same time. They wanted 700 to pull and check. I needed that money in case i had to buy a new one. Most of you said to pull it, its toast. Well its pulled. What a job. 3 hours with 3 people. Took me forever to figure out how to get the TQ out!!! But i found it. So its sitting there on the shop floor. How do i check the converter, and what can i check on the transmission with it on the bench?? The fluid looked o. k. and no chunks in the pan. Ive spent 200 so far on 2 diagnosis'. i want to keep that low so i can afford a transmission if i have to. I will tear apart whatever needed. Thank you in advance! RRR

In all honesty unless you are a seasoned mechanic or just pretty darn good I would not take the transmission apart. They are not all that complicated, but nonetheless they need to be right when they go back together. Call Dave Goerend and have him rebuild it for you, he is by far the least expensive I have talked to and his warranty is awesome.
