I saw this BBQ grill @ walmart, anyone know anything about it?

I've been grille shopping and I noticed it tonight, the Great outdoors Grill Company grill. There were 2 models, one with a Cast Iron H burner for $199 and the same thing with a CAST BRASS burner for $269. Both use briquettes and look really stout and well built. There are no frills, just what U need to char meat. Has anyone heard of this outfit? I think I'm gonna go for it, but I will wait a couple days to see what You Guys say about grills in the $200-300 range.

I bought the $269 model with brass burner. I am tired of changing burners every year or so. Used it every day for a week now. Did 1/2 turkey last night. Seems to cook fairly even. Does this mean the Weber Genesis Series is obsolete? I've been looking forward to a Weber for several years if my Sunbeam ever colapses. I'd sure hate to spend over $300 for a grill if there's better to be had for less...

I have a TEC (Thermal Engineering Corp. ) out of South Carolina. All stainless in and out. The burners are set up UNDER a 1 1/4" thick brick of perforated ceramic. What you end up with is even heat... no hot spots! Ive had this grill for about 6 or 7 years now... and use it all the time... it still looks and works like new. It costs about $1300 new but will out-live 5 of those $300 Home Depot specials... and it is an absolute pleasure to cook with every time I fire it up... I know its sounds like big bucks... but give it some consideration!

I agree, get the best you can afford or save up until you can get the best. As life goes on I am more and more convinced that this philosophy provides the best investment and satisfaction in the long run for whatever you are buying.



I finally sprung for one of the nicer Coleman grills after getting tired of replacing cheapy $200 tube steel framed bbq's every other year. They would either wobble or rust appart in no time. The one I have now is several years old and is still solid as a rock.



The Great Outdoor Grills seem to have a good warranty however... Not very familiar with them so I can't offer any input specifically.

This doesn't answer the question on quality and usefullness but I thought it interesting that I recently received information on this company. A cousin that works construction on an expansion at this manufacture was asking us if we were interested in a grill because the company has an outlet at the factory and sell repaired and surplus units at a very good price. If anyone is near Joplin, Mo it could be a worthwhile detour to see what is available. The factory can be seen from InterState 44 and is just east of the Flying J truck stop in the Southeast part of Joplin.



Apparently these people worked at Sunbeam and they were selling more grills than sunbeam wanted to produce. Because of their frustration that Sunbeam would not increase production they quit and started this company. The grills seem to be very well made and durable and the market is expanding and the plant is expanding to meet that market. It is interesting to note that the Sunbeam factory in Neosho, MO has laid off many workers and has filed for bankrupcy.

I have a Warm Morning Broilmaster(don't know if they are still in business) that I have used for 15-20 years. Cast iron burners, cast iron grates, cast aluminum grille body, but does use brickets. I have never had any problems with it and use once or twice a week. I bought it from the local LP gas supplier after getting tired of messing with the sheet metal throw away types.
