the geniues@ the dealer weaseled me into a oil changeand i gave in because it was due and the price was right, boy was i wrong! yesterday when i went to get the drain plug off i seen that the 9/16'' head on the plug was patrly rounded off,in the clockwise direction. when i tried to get it off it was tighter than hellno wrench, socket of any size would work sears bolt outs niether. i lucked out with a huge channel lock pliers on the shoulder of the plug i got from genos thank you who ever that was who makes then. when i weld a nut back on top of that plug it is going back on. that was the first& last time ill let them clowns work on my truckunless its wrrenty work. carl

Get a Fumoto drain valve and you won't have to worry about pulling the plug again.

$25 well spent.

second on the fumoto. . I use them on all my vehicles. When I get a new car/truck, my wife starts to wonder if the fumoto for it doesn't arrive within a week. :)

Take it back to the dealer who did that and make them fix it.

that place is a mess of mad confusion at times. ill avoid it ,unless its warranty work they will not see me truck any more .

NOW, lessee if we can figure this out - the dealership has SOME highly paid and trained workers who are qualified to dig REAL deep into the innards of your engine and transmissions, then they have these minimum wage beginner guys who dunno what a box wrench or socket is, or which way to turn it to loosen or tighten a nut or bolt...

NOW, 3 guesses as to WHICH one they'll turn loose on YOUR pride and joy to do a simple low-profit, non technical "lube job"...

Next quiz involves guessing why I would NEVER consider having a dealership or "Quick lube" outfit get NEAR my truck... :-laf :-laf

NOW, how many of these stories must we hear, before WE wise up to the fact that the "experts" the dealers use for lube jobs just MIGHT not be the sharpest tools in the drawer - or guys we really want near our trucks! ;) :D

yeah, the only reason they changed my oil is because they replaced the turbo for no reason when they misdiagnosed the transmission output sensor .

YIKES! That is scary. You do know you can use another dealer for warranty work?

Mike

This is exactly why I change my own oil. There are too many brain dead people out there who's bosses think they are capable of changing the oil in my lawnmower. I won't even let them do that!

i might do that(try a different dealer for warranty work)because i really had a bad experence with the diesel mechanic and the service manager guy who forgot to order the other parts as well.
