Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) i think i have a problem!

so in ebay i bought a hx-40. i havent gotten it yet but im begining to think the exaust port is not going to line up with my manifold http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...em=&item=260101131866&rd=1,1#ebayphotohosting can any one tell me if im right or wrong? and if it is not the right size what can i do about it is ther an adapter? anything would help thx

sorry man, but why'd you buy a hx40? I don't think it'll line up, you have to get the or some sorta adapter. But at that point, why not hold out and get bigger upgrade, like a sps62/12? I've read/heard that the hx40 break easeir than the hx35s (stock).

That looks like a marine turbo..... you can make a hybrid using your hx35 housing.

i got it bc it was only 300 bucks. can i make it into a hybird myself? how hard would it be?

I can tell you it requires a different downpipe and clamp from what the HX35 uses.

Check the play in the shaft. In/out and side to side.

i know it needs a diferent down pipe but i was wondering if they make an adapter for the different manifold side size? i was thinking of doing the hybrid advise but i wanted to get a true 4inch exaust all the way out for temp reasons. but if the hx35/40 will lower them too then i guess i can do the hybrid one

i got the turbo today does any one have the measurments for the exaust outlet on the manifold?

Maybe the adapter at the bottom of the page of the attached link will work. That turbo may not spool well unless it has a 16cm exhaust housing. If it doesn't, you probably would be better off buying a housing than an adapter. I don't think a HX35 exhaust housing will fit the HX40, the exhaust wheel is too large.

Go to the bottom of the page and look at the adapter plate for the Pro52. It should fit your exhaust flange for you... ... Andy
