Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) I think I set a world record!!!

Anybody that has replaced the rubber sections of fuel line on our trucks knows how much a pain in the rear it can be. Well let me tell you,I did it on my "new" 97 tonite in a whopping 35 minutes, including clean-up and rebleeding the system. I'm feeling mighty good right now... and no,the transmission was not out of the truck when this was done. Other trucks it has been a 2 hour job. That's all... I'm done.

Jay-the only thing I did different than "normal"was to remove the entire fuel filter canister assembly (now the truck is converted to the older spin on filters... but that's another story). But other than the filter,everything else was done over the fender.

It took me about an hour to do both of mine... . I had to stop and put some electrical tape on a HUGE cut I got on my thumb from yanking on one of the old rubber lines.



When it finally let loose... I ripped open my thumb on something under there...



Yet another job where you need to be a contortionist midget to get it done... I have nothing against midgets... in fact sometimes I'm jealous of them.

I agree totally with DKAYSER, I'm figuring you can do 4 trucks in the normal 2 hour time limit. 1 guy brings the beverage, 1 guy

the burgers and the other 2 the condiments and chips.

Nice job Glenn but, are you sure you looked at the same clock before and after the job? Are you sure the space/time continueum wasn't distorted by your disdain for the job?



Did you remove the filter or the whole filter bracket?

Well now that Eric has asked,I will tell you. I removed the entire filter assembly(including the bracket) and replaced the stock pain in the arse with a new filter head from a earlier 2nd gen. truck. Now I don't have to argue with the filter canister,I just replace a spin on filter. It is much nicer than the original setup.



Edit:At the next bombing session,I'll help anyone who needs it.
